Digital TV obligation law has been published by Brazilian Government early January 2015. I'm not publishing these slides representing government, company, lawyer. This is my solely interpretation and professional in IT area that I would like to share. This has not been validated with any of the mentioned entities. I'm not responsible for any decision that might be taken using this information.

§5: Penalty proportional to incompliance: sales revenue – taxes – good purchasing value.

3. Article #7 – R&D Investment Rules
§ 1: R&D projects to be executed, must be within “Brasil Maior” Program scope.
§ 2-3: Pre-approval at SEPIN/MCTI (responsible for following execution) does not imply on
automatic acceptance of it.
§ 4: Project results are accepted when delivered in the Annual Demonstrative Report (RDA).
§ 5: Expenses of the current calendar year, are accepted until 31-Mar next year calendar.
§ 6: The additional R&D investment (§4 Art#5), preferably directed to development of devices
that incorporate Digital TV (ISDB-Tb) signal reception.
§ 7: Criteria for parts and technology adopted for DTV devices (ISDB-Tb), established by
MCTI/MDIC
§ 8: All other conditions are subjected to law # 8248/1991 and its changes, and Decree 5906/2006.
