This document contains data on international mergers and acquisitions (IM&A) from 2003 to 2013. It shows graphs of global FDI outflows compared to IM&A volumes and their ratio over time. Specific graphs show the UK's outward FDI and IM&A, China's outward FDI and net outward IM&A, and the UK's net outward IM&A. Additional graphs depict China's inward FDI and net inward IM&A over time. The conclusion notes that while IM&A is not directly comparable to FDI, correlations allow IM&A to be useful for projections, and its finer level of detail can reveal trends not evident in FDI series alone.
