The document summarizes the activities of the North Carolina Department of Public Safety Piedmont Region PERT team from October to December 2013. It describes trainings conducted, new members that joined, facility activations in response to incidents, and the retirement of the 2nd Company Commander. The team conducted trainings in areas such as drills, building entry, firearms qualifications, and worked with other PERT teams on security details at Lanesboro Correctional Facility during its lockdown.
The document outlines behavior expectations for students across various school settings. For classes, students are expected to be safe, keep hands to oneself and chairs pushed in. They should be respectful by doing their best in assignments and asking questions, and responsible by being on time and attending daily. For the media center, students are expected to be safe by accessing appropriate websites, respectful by working quietly, and responsible by treating books and materials carefully.
Portfolio Idea 3_The new Table-Chair Concepthsuanie7
The document discusses redesigning classroom tables and chairs to allow for easier movement. Currently, the plastic and metal furniture is difficult to rearrange. A survey found students face issues with noise, time wasted moving furniture, and trouble rearranging it. Two redesign ideas were proposed: connected tables and chairs, or a roller set. The connected set was chosen for its simplicity. The refined design features rollers activated by levers, adjustable seating, and curved table compartments. It aims to make rearrangement easier while preventing safety hazards and weight issues. User feedback was positive about the improved mobility and time savings.
1) The document describes various simple machines that the author found around their home and school, including wedges like scissors and forks, levers like screwdrivers and bottle openers, wheels & axles on cars and office chairs, inclined planes like stairs and ramps, screws like bottle lids and those in walls, pulleys on luggage scales and window blinds, and compound machines like staplers and can openers.
2) Examples are provided for each simple machine along with where it was found.
3) The functions of each simple machine are explained briefly, such as how wedges cut or push apart materials, how levers lift heavy weights, and how pulleys make lifting weights easier.
The document outlines the rules and procedures for Room 219's fifth grade classroom. It details expectations for things like entering and exiting the classroom, using the bathroom or getting a drink, throwing away trash, and more. Consequences are explained for poor behavior and include losing tickets, staying after school, and parents being notified. The roles of VIPs, table leaders, and cooperative group work are also described.
How it is made Plastic Chair? Erdi Karaçal Mechanical EngineerErdi Karaçal
This document summarizes the process of manufacturing plastic chairs through injection molding. It begins by discussing the raw material, polyethylene terephthalate (PET), which is a thermoplastic that can be easily recycled. The manufacturing process involves injection molding the molten plastic into a mold. Molds are precisely machined from metal and must be carefully designed to facilitate the molding process. After molding, the chairs are clamped and then undergo quality checks before being distributed. Damaged chairs can also be recycled by separating, cleaning, grinding, and remelting the plastic materials.
This document discusses scheduling and controls for project manufacturing. It begins by contrasting mass production, job shop manufacturing, and proposing project manufacturing as a third method. Project manufacturing schedules unique engineered products using critical path methodology (CPM). The document outlines automating schedule creation from routing and BOM data, integrating project schedules, resolving resource conflicts in an enterprise system, and concludes the approach provides benefits like improved project integration and controls for project manufacturing plants.

The document discusses project management techniques like the critical path method (CPM) and program evaluation and review technique (PERT) which are used to schedule projects by breaking them into tasks, estimating durations, and identifying the critical path of activities that determine the overall project duration. CPM and PERT involve creating a network diagram of tasks and their dependencies to determine the earliest and latest times that tasks can start and finish without extending the project completion date.
Declan is an 18-year-old adult baby who has engaged in infantilism for 5 years. He enjoys being loved, hugged, and treated like a baby. Declan has a Winnie the Pooh themed nursery where he takes naps in his cot with a mobile. He uses pacifiers, bottles, bibs, and wears onesies, sleepers, diapers. Declan's dream is to have a nanny care for him by feeding him, pushing him in his stroller, and treating him like a baby to feel loved.

This document discusses the design of a 10 MW solar PV power plant consisting of 20 sections of 500 kW each. It includes details of the number of solar panels, inverters, junction boxes, and other infrastructure needed. A critical path method (CPM) network diagram shows the key activities in the project, including site assessment, design, procurement, mounting structure erection, panel erection, cabling, commissioning, and their durations and dependencies. The critical path is shown to be either 14 or 18 weeks depending on the pathway taken.
grammaticality, deep & surface structure, and ambiguityDedew Deviarini
This document discusses English morphology and syntax. It covers several key topics:
1. What is syntax and syntactic structure, including parts of speech and phrase structure.
2. The difference between deep and surface structure, where deep structure is the underlying form and surface structure is the actual form after transformations.
3. Grammaticality, which refers to sentences that follow syntactic rules rather than other factors like meaning or truth.
4. Types of ambiguities, including lexical ambiguities due to ambiguous words, and structural ambiguities due to multiple possible syntactic trees.
Injection molding involves injecting molten plastic into a mold cavity. There are three main functional units: injection, mold, and clamping. Molten plastic is injected into a closed metal mold under high pressure, then cools and hardens to the shape inverse of the mold cavity. Injection molding can produce a variety of complex plastic parts and is widely used in industries like automotive, electronics, medical devices, toys and more.
The document discusses different types of production processes. There are four main types: job shop production, batch production, mass production, and continuous/flow production. Job shop production involves unique custom products in low volumes. Batch production groups similar products into batches. Mass production focuses on high volumes of standardized products. Continuous production involves a linear and automated process with no backtracking.
The document discusses three examples of project managers and their responsibilities on different projects:
1) Construction of a retail development with 26 units and a supermarket. Responsible for coordinating contractors to ensure on-time and on-budget completion.
2) Directing trials of a new analgesic drug. Responsible for designing experiments and ensuring proper scientific and legal procedures are followed.
3) Introducing multimedia resources at a teacher training college in New Delhi. Responsible for purchasing and developing resources as well as encouraging acceptance by lecturers and students.
This document provides an overview of PERT/CPM (Program/Project Evaluation and Review Technique/Critical Path Method). It describes PERT/CPM as methods used to plan, schedule, and control projects involving complex sequences of interdependent activities. The document outlines the history, framework, basic terms, and differences between PERT and CPM. It also discusses the advantages and disadvantages of using PERT/CPM for project management.

An Experience of Teamwork and Collaboration
As of the middle of November, along with the Piedmont Region, Western
and South Central Region PERT have been maintaining a security detail at
Lanesboro Correctional every day while the facility has been on
Institutional Lockdown.
Our daily missions consist of four to twelve member teams making security
rounds throughout the facility and housing units, being visible during
movements, and assisting the Officers in Charge with restraining, visual
observations and escorting inmates. We have also been working close with
Facility Intelligence Officers to search cells, inmates and specific areas that
are known or suspected to have gang related activity.
Some of the contraband found include a large amount of cell phones, cell
phone paraphernalia, drugs, tobacco, tools used to remove light fixtures and
lock plates, and a large quantity of verified gang materials.
Members from each region have shown their dedication by volunteering to
work their scheduled days off so as not to disrupt the operations of their
assigned facilities, as well as taking the time away from home and family.
ALL THE DEDICATION IS NOT IGNORED NOR UNAPPRECIATED.WE
SEND OURSINCERE THANKS TO ALL FACILITIES AND MEMBERS’
FAMILIES FOR THE CONTINUED SUPPORT!

Resigned
with Pride
From: Officer H. L. Ayala-Rodríguez
To: Captain Rogers
Piedmont Region Commander
Mr. Jimmy Currin
Superintendent, Sanford Correctional Center
Subject: Letter of Resignation
I, Officer H. L. Ayala-Rodríguez formally request my resignation from the Prison Emergency Response
Team, (PERT).
I’ve been a PERT team member since 2002, and consider the experience to be one of the most rewarding
of my career with the Department of Public Safety. The personal fulfillment and professional enrichment
I’ve gained while serving with the State’s Finest have made this a very difficult decision for me. However,
due to my age and impending retirement, I believe it’s time for me to resign in the best interest of the
PERT team, myself and my family.
I would like to thank all my team members, squad and platoon leaders, company commanders and
Captain Rogers. A very special thanks to our instructors for the outstanding training and my everlasting
gratitude to Mr. Currin for believing in me. Thank you for helping me become a better officer and
person.
I feel so proud and honored for this opportunity, privilege and BLESSING. Thank you.
Respectfully,
Officer H. L. Ayala-Rodríguez

Appreciation Luncheon: Included with this day of training, with the
gracious assistance of Sager Furr and SEAN District 17, Piedmont PERT held an
appreciation luncheon. Invited were the region’s administration and regional
facilities administration.
The only way that PERT can do what it does
efficiently is with the support from the
regional facilities. They assist us by
scheduling their staff so our members may
attend trainings, scheduled activations, and
adjusting themselves for members to respond
to emergency activations.
We took the opportunity to
introduce our guests to the new
training advantage that has
been incorporated to our
exercises. Sim-Weapons give
real-life expectations to
members as they train for real-
life situations.

Activation at Lanesboro Correctional: Themorning of November 15 a
sergeant at the facility was assaulted by an inmate with a razor. After a
weekend of being on institutional lockdown, Piedmont PERT (along with
Central, Western, and South Central regions totaled 261 PERT members
entering the facility) was activated to come and conduct a facility
shakedown. The stress was on cell phones, shanks, and gang paraphernalia.

Rifle Team Training:
Building entry and Force
on Force training on a
more advance level for
that team of riflemen. The
instructors set up floor
plans that tested the
senses and skills of each
member. The “bad guys”
were both portrayed by
the instructors and
members, giving a real-
life feeling to the
scenarios.
Safety is always a concern
with Force on Force
training. Not only do the
members wear face masks
and body protection, the
instructors and the camera
operator are wearing
protective equipment. The
rifle magazines used are
designated as Simmunition
training magazines,
marked with blue tape,
continuing the theme from
the “blue” training pistols.
