3. CSCS Smart Cart
• Since Jan 2010 all CSCS Cards have
microchip.
• Cards can now be read by Smartphones
with NFC (near field communication)
• Apps developed for:
Validating Cards – CSCS Go Smart
On‐site Training
Time and Attendance Logging
• Use CSCS cards as main or zone site
access cards rather than having to issue
separate cards.
• Ensure plant is only used by authorised
and competent workers by using CSCS
cards as a security key for appropriately
trained personnel.

Overview:
• Contractors register online before coming on site
• Contractors watch generic induction video before coming to site
• Contractors can watch site specific induction as well
• Inductions videos include test afterwards
• Acts as training database – emails when expired
Benefits:
• Can tailor make – can include own training records – will email when expired – can run
reports.
• Saves site managers time delivering inductions and capturing security data leaving
only site specific face to face induction to deliver getting contractors on site quicker.
• Saves operatives time in not having to watch standard induction every time.
• Can have Site specific inductions prior to attending – i.e generic overview for large

Beginning and end of their shift each day, drivers tested
themselves, upon passing they obtained a receipt which
meant they could get the keys to their vehicles.

12. Harnesses
Overview:
• Eliminates use of groin straps (suspension trauma)
• Uses calf gaieter and leg lanyard
• Positions casulty in resting position.
• Certified to 150Kg
Benefits:
• Wear harness all day comfortably
• No need to take off, contaminate on floor etc.
• Additional products such as safety coat over harness.
