Marketing Manitowoc County: A Guide to Customer Service SkillsTheChamber
This document provides an overview of customer service skills and an introduction to Manitowoc County, Wisconsin. It discusses the goals of promoting a positive attitude about the region and educating participants about the quality of life. It then covers key customer service skills like greeting customers with a smile, focusing on guests, problem-solving, and expressing pride in the region. The document also summarizes the history and municipalities of Manitowoc County, as well as attractions, parks, dining, lodging, and places to get more visitor information.
SitourUSA is part of a multimedia advertising network at over 1000 ski resorts around the world. For brands that want to get 'em while they're happy ... and efficiently reach 20 million upscale, active spenders who are uniquely receptive to their message ... because you can't beat a positive frame of mind in an uncluttered environment!
The document proposes Mackmyra Whisky Tours, which would take patrons to Mackmyra distillery in Sweden to learn about whisky production and create their own cask. While there, patrons could also visit other Scandinavian locations. The proposal outlines plans to market the tours through a website, social media, whisky events, and partnerships with distributors to introduce the tours and Mackmyra whisky to the US market. Patrons would name and customize their cask, choosing the whisky and aging time. Proposed tour types include archipelago, midnight sun, and northern lights tours at different times of year.
The artist Pierre Henri Matisse, grandson of famous modern artist Henri Matisse, is exhibiting his mixed media works at the Feather & Bone Gallery in Appleton, Wisconsin through April 22nd. The exhibit is part of Matisse's "Freedom & Love Tour" and features boldly colored oil paintings, cut-outs, and lithographs inspired by his French heritage. Matisse hopes the exhibit and community art events will support arts education in the Appleton school district. His linocut print "Circle of Love" depicts a mother and child and is meant to represent the nurturing of the soul through love.
This document summarizes the vanishing of historic barns across Wisconsin's rural landscape. As agriculture has modernized, many old barns have fallen into disrepair or have been torn down. Efforts have been made to preserve some barns through rehabilitation projects and adaptive reuse. Meanwhile, the salvaged wood from old barns is in high demand and is being reused in new construction. While the number of old barns continues to decline, their architectural styles and materials are being incorporated into new buildings to pay homage to Wisconsin's agricultural heritage.
The document introduces the Wine RockStars marketing concept, which aims to promote wines in a fun, irreverent way inspired by rock and roll culture. It discusses how wine, like rock music, has become a universal experience that unites people. The Wine RockStars program will select wines from an elite panel of experts and tell the stories behind each label to create excitement and connections between producers and consumers. It seeks winery partners to supply wines and promotional support to provide customers with a superior selection and shopping experience through an innovative online retail approach. The goal is to broaden the wine market and reintroduce wine to consumers in a fresh, exciting way like rock and roll.

Whether you are an occasional weekend wine fan or a
discriminating wine critic, you are sure to find the perfect wine
to suit your taste in the vast wine country of the Finger Lakes.
After all, the Finger Lakes has grown to be recognized as one of
the nation’s largest and most respected wine producing regions.
Despite being home to more than 100 wineries, all are easily
accessible by visitors. Many of our wineries are located on easily
navigable trails around our beautiful lakes. And, when in doubt,
maps and a list of reliable transportation services are always
available at FingerLakes.org.
As if the award-winning wines themselves weren’t enough
of an excuse to visit, the region also now boasts a budding
microbrewing industry as well as a few well-respected distilleries
and cideries (manufacturers of hard cider).
Watch for next year’s Travel Guide edition with cideries,
meaderies, distilleries, and breweries listed in grid form for your

True to its name, our region boasts 11 pristine,
finger-shaped lakes and numerous other lakes,
rivers and ponds of all sizes. We are also home to
over 1,000 breathtaking waterfalls and the famous
Erie Canal.
In addition to the miles of sparkling water, there
are many other natural marvels to experience in
the Finger Lakes. From the rolling hills full of lush
vineyards to the “Grand Canyon of the East” in
Letchworth State Park, the Finger Lakes features
an awe-inspiring patchwork of Mother Nature’s
wonders.
Unlike many other tourist destinations, the Finger
Lakes region flourishes in every season. Whether
you are visiting us to spy the vivid red and gold
vistas of autumn or the delicate blossoms and
re-emerging wildlife of spring, you can’t beat the
Finger Lakes for enjoying nature in all its glory.
And, few areas can boast such terrific downhill
and cross-country skiing in winter and water skiing
and other thrilling water sports in the summer.
Yet, no matter how many times you visit
the Finger Lakes; there is always more
nature to be discovered.

Although the Finger Lakes region is known
primarily for its natural beauty, it is also
home to the famous manmade wonder - the
Erie Canal.
The historic Erie Canal was opened in
1825 and served as the first transportation
system between the Atlantic Ocean (by way
of the Hudson River) and the Great Lakes. It
had a tremendous impact on the economic
development of New York State and was
called the “Eighth Wonder of the World”
when it opened.
Commercial traffic on the canal dropped off
during the second half of the twentieth cen-
tury. Today, it is primarily used for recrea-
tion. There are numerous summer festivals
in towns surrounding the canal, and many
restaurants and businesses take advantage
of a canal side location. Dinner cruises, boat
rentals, and bike rides on the canal path all
allow visitors to experience the Erie Canal in
unique ways.
If a leisurely pace is what you seek, seach
no further than the legendary New York
State Canal System. With boat speed limits
of no more than 10 mph and 524 miles to
explore, pleasure boats plying the waters
from May to November are sure to create
memorable journeys.

14. Thanks to the many natural water sources
in New York’s Finger Lakes region, fishing
is a favorite pastime for residents and
visitors alike. Fishing poles in this region
have been known to pull up trophy-sized
trout, salmon, bass, walleye, pike, carp and
catfish. Numerous derbies are hosted here,
some that attract anglers from all over the
country.
The Finger Lakes also features a quarter
of a million acres of public hunting lands
in 118 locations, making it a veritable
paradise for gamesmen. Forests, fields,
meadows and wetlands are home to a
diverse assortment of species. Hunters
can pursue trophy whitetail deer, black
bear, waterfowl, wild turkey and more
in this natural wonderland. When the
hunting or fishing day is done, enhance the
experience with a stay at one of the area’s
fine accommodations and a meal at a local
restaurant.
A list of guides, taxidermists, gun shops,
and other professional service providers
can be found at FingerLakes.org to help
make your outdoor experience the best that
it can be.

The Finger Lakes has a rich political and environ-
mental history that is celebrated throughout the
region. You will find yourself inspired by the past and
optimistic for the future.
The Finger Lakes region is home to the women’s
rights movement. The famous Seneca Falls Women’s
Rights Convention brought the national spotlight to
the need for women’s suffrage. The very influential
activist Susan B. Anthony lived in Rochester, NY.
The abolitionist movement also has roots in the Finger
Lakes. Abolitionist Frederick Douglass spent a great
deal of time as an activist, and is buried in Rochester.
Harriet Tubman, a conductor on the Underground
Railroad and known as the “Moses of her people,”
called Auburn home for much of her life, as well.
Whether natural or manmade, Finger Lakes terrain
features many reminders of the past. Massive sheets
of ice once covered the region, and are responsible
for the dazzling waterfalls, gorges, and lakes that
are abundant in the Finger Lakes. The legendary Erie
Canal also runs through the area.

New York State was covered in glaciers
during the Ice Age, leaving the soil deep
and fertile. Now, the farms of the Finger
Lakes region yield a bounty of fresh and
flavorful produce each season. Many farms
lead tours or allow visitors to pick their
own produce for a truly fresh experience.
The Finger Lakes also has an Amish and
Mennonite population who are heavy
agricultural contributors. This community
infuses their culture into the goods and
produce they sell. An enjoyable way to
sample this lifestyle is through one of the
area’s many farm markets. Farm markets
offer seasonal fruits, vegetables, baked
goods, and more that are both natural and
healthful. Many farms also offer roadside
stands for that off-the-vine taste.

The Finger Lakes offers a rich array of
culinary delights. The area’s agricultural
focus guarantees a medley of fresh,
local food to complement the world-
class wines.
Talented chefs can be found in every
corner of the region, and many are mem-
bers of the Finger Lakes Culinary Bounty,
an organization dedicated to providing
unique dining experiences to visitors and
local “foodies.”
Spend a lazy day uncovering hidden
culinary gems or book a reservation at
one of the region’s fine dining establish-
ments. Whether you are looking for a fun,
casual place to take the whole
family or a romantic,
fireside locale to
take your special
someone, the
Finger Lakes has
the right option
for you.

As its moniker suggests, the Finger Lakes
region is known for breathtaking lake views.
