Background
• Project was submitted to and ranked in the top five
  by the MPO Policy Committee for FY 2010.

• July 2010, the City was notified by the NMDOT of
  the funding award for the construction of the trail
  along the LC Outfall Channel form North Triviz Dr.
  to La Llorona Trail.

• The trail will be a 4.25 mile east-west bicycle and
  pedestrian facility that would bridge the north end of
  the Triviz multi-use pathway with the north end of
  the La Llorona multi-purpose pathway at the Rio
  Grande.
Background Cont.
• A special use permit was needed with EBID since
  portions of the Las Cruces Outfall Channel are under
  their jurisdiction.

• The Las Cruces Outfall Channel Trail Project falls
  under three goals on the City of Las Cruces Strategic
  Plan: 2.36, 2.37 & 3.13.

• The trail was also included in Transport 2040 Plan.

• The path will accommodate both pedestrian and
