your team’s answers.
 Check your team packets. Academic World Quest
participants will have 8 answer sheets and World
Quest participants will have 7 answer sheets.
 You will have 30 seconds after I have read the entire
question to enter your answer on the answer sheet.
Please note there will be a couple of questions where
you will be given 45 seconds, 60 seconds, 90
seconds or 2 minutes to complete your answer. I will
indicate these questions at the beginning of each
round and as they appear on the screen.
 At the end of each round, answer sheets will be
collected and graded by the scorers.
 For fill-in-the blank questions,
judges will follow the “close
enough” rule
 For personal names, last names
are OK
 For country names, any answer
that clearly and properly identifies
it will receive credit, even if there
may be a more precise technical
name
WHILE YOU’RE PLAYING
 Any team with a serious concern about an answer
to a question may present their argument in writing
to the Judges Committee.
 Appeals will be considered by the Judges
Committee during question review periods and the
outcome of your appeal will be provided after the
completion of the competition
 Final scores will be available after the award
presentations; however, teams’ answer sheets or
the competition questions themselves will NOT be
made available after the event

  • 23. BEFORE YOU BEGIN…  Assign a team member to be a Scribe for recording your team’s answers.  Check your team packets. Academic World Quest participants will have 8 answer sheets and World Quest participants will have 7 answer sheets.  You will have 30 seconds after I have read the entire question to enter your answer on the answer sheet. Please note there will be a couple of questions where you will be given 45 seconds, 60 seconds, 90 seconds or 2 minutes to complete your answer. I will indicate these questions at the beginning of each round and as they appear on the screen.  At the end of each round, answer sheets will be collected and graded by the scorers.
  • 24.  For fill-in-the blank questions, judges will follow the “close enough” rule  For personal names, last names are OK  For country names, any answer that clearly and properly identifies it will receive credit, even if there may be a more precise technical name WHILE YOU’RE PLAYING
  • 25.  Any team with a serious concern about an answer to a question may present their argument in writing to the Judges Committee.  Appeals will be considered by the Judges Committee during question review periods and the outcome of your appeal will be provided after the completion of the competition  Final scores will be available after the award presentations; however, teams’ answer sheets or the competition questions themselves will NOT be made available after the event Game Play
