Expert systems use rules and heuristics to solve problems in specific domains like medicine or engineering. They operate on incomplete information and provide recommendations rather than exact answers. Rule-based expert systems consist of a knowledge base containing IF-THEN rules, a working memory of facts, and an inference engine that applies rules to derive new facts or recommendations. The inference engine matches rules to facts, selects rules to fire using conflict resolution strategies, and repeats the process until a solution or termination criteria is reached. Managing uncertainty is important, and can be done using probability, fuzzy logic, or other methods. Hybrid systems integrate techniques like neural networks, fuzzy systems, and evolutionary computation.

zkStudyClub - Reef: Fast Succinct Non-Interactive Zero-Knowledge Regex ProofsAlex Pruden
This paper presents Reef, a system for generating publicly verifiable succinct non-interactive zero-knowledge proofs that a committed document matches or does not match a regular expression. We describe applications such as proving the strength of passwords, the provenance of email despite redactions, the validity of oblivious DNS queries, and the existence of mutations in DNA. Reef supports the Perl Compatible Regular Expression syntax, including wildcards, alternation, ranges, capture groups, Kleene star, negations, and lookarounds. Reef introduces a new type of automata, Skipping Alternating Finite Automata (SAFA), that skips irrelevant parts of a document when producing proofs without undermining soundness, and instantiates SAFA with a lookup argument. Our experimental evaluation confirms that Reef can generate proofs for documents with 32M characters; the proofs are small and cheap to verify (under a second).

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.

• Automatic creation of detailed reservations for
ingredients based on Picking Rules
• Analogous to AutoAllocation for batches in 11i OPM
• From Batch Details screen, go to Inventory > Auto
Detail Batch or Auto Detail Line
• Must be initiated as above, no “fully automatic
autoallocation” when a batch is created as there was
in 11i, although you can automatically create high
level reservations upon batch creation
10. 10
Select Available Inventory
• Presents list showing the available inventory for an
ingredient line
• Analogous to 11i Pick Lots
• Uses Picking Rules as part of filtering criteria and in
sorting the inventory
• Can be accessed from Tools menu on Item
Reservation Window in batches, to select lots to
reserve to the batch
• Can also be accessed from the Material Transactions
screen in batches to select lots to consume and
transact
13. 13
Picking
• Creates move order to move material from storage
location to shop floor for consumption in batch
• For example, you store ingredients in a raw material
warehouse
• You need to transfer this inventory to the shop floor
before consuming it in a batch
• Picking creates a move order to do this transfer, and
uses the Picking Rules to allocate specific lots to the
move order
15. 15
Picking Rule Setup
• You define picking rules for batches on the Inventory
Picking Rules screen (or in WMS for a WMS-enabled
org)
• Define the rules by with material will be selected
– For example, First In First Out or First Expired First Out
– Is partial allocation allowed?
– Must only a single lot be selected?
– Shelf Days – lot must not expire within this number of days
17. 17
Rules Workbench
• Rules must be assigned on the Rules Workbench
• Specifies the selection criteria for the rules, which rule
will be used when
• Can specify by:
– Organization
– Item
– Transaction source and/or transaction type (very important)
– Date range, etc.
21. 21
Rules Hierarchy
• First looks at Rules Workbench to find the picking rule
to use
• If the situation does not fit the criteria for any of the
rules as specified on Rules Workbench, then uses
default set up on Organization Parameters, ATP,
Pick, Item-Sourcing tab.
• If no Org level default, then uses the system default –
rule_id 2, Absolute LIFO (Last In First Out)
34. 34
Gotchas and Known Issues
• On Rules Workbench, make sure you specify Job or
Schedule in the Transaction Source field, otherwise
sales order and batch picking rules can interfere with
each other and stop working.
• For Picking itself, you must have supply
subinventory/locator on ingredient line, otherwise Picking
will fail because it will not know the destination
subinventory
• If autoallocation for the move order line fails because of
a problem with picking rule setup, the move order line
will be canceled immediately – you do not have the
option of allocating it manually
