2011 FASHIONS ON 2000 YEAR OLD PAVEMENTS

Designer fashions from Bath’s top boutiques will be paraded on 2000 year old
pavements at the Roman Baths. Bath in Fashion 2011’s hot ticket is “Fashion n
Fizz” on Thursday 24th March at 8.00pm. With nearly a million visitors from across
the globe each year, the Roman Baths is an “A lister” attraction so a fitting setting for
the cream of Bath’s boutiques and big night out for the city’s fashionistas.

Bath’s independents are working with London Fashion Week producer John Walford
and stylist, Rebekah Roy to create a stunning fashion event in this magical and
unique location. The £30 ticket price includes a light supper and fizz, as well as a
luxurious goodie bag.

Leading independents like Mee, Prey, Blue now at Bath’s cool new venue, The Loft,
and British Designers @Fashion Capital present their SS11 collections. Watch out
for Betty Jackson and Orla Keilly by Prey; must have Belstaff jackets and Kate
Middleton’s favourite brand Libelula by Mee; and Blue with their distinctive brands
like OSKA and Annette Gortz. British Designers @ Fashion Capital is championing
up and coming young designers like Zoe Boomer and Christian Blanken as well as
designer fashion by Bora Aksu and Louise Amstrup and more.Watch out for
accessories by LUX with bags by Anya Hindmarch and Mulberry and foot wear by
Ash and Kat Maconie foot wear (a current favourite with Elle and Vogue ).Bath Spa
University has courted guest designer, Bastyan who will be adding to the WOW
factor with their urbane and luxurious designs.

British Designers @ Fashion Capital will showcase London Fashion Week names
such as Bora Aksu, Avsh Alom Gur, PPQ and Hannah Marshall, as well as up and
coming designers, such as Isy & Peeps and Christian Blanken. Graduate collections
and local talent are also featured, in line with the mentoring and support work
provided by FashionCapital. Blue – The Loft is ideal for the adventurous and
progressive dresser, with labels that you won’t find on the high street including Lilith,
Elm Design and Rundholz. Prey offers an eclectic mix of gorgeous and glam design
with Transit, Fred Perry, Olive & Orange, The Barn, Gustav, Maliparmi and Easy
Comfort. Demonstrating how to accessorise and perfect an outfit, designer jewellery
boutique Fabulous will showcase leading international brands such as Pandora and
Thomas Sabo, and top designers like John Rocha and Lola Rose.

Bastyan is a brand coming soon to Bath. Created by Tonia Bastyan, they will be
working with the Fashion Course at Bath Spa University setting industry based
projects. Tonia, who finds fashion inspiration in anything from ballet dancing to a
piece of vintage cloth, will show that being stylish is more important than being on
trend, with investment pieces that can transcend the seasons. The Bastyan
Collection consists of individual pieces destined to be worn for seasons to come,
pieces that define the brand essence of providing a cool, clean, understated vision of
urbane luxury to its customer.


Designer label Bastyan takes it name from its founder and designer, Tonia Bastyan.
The Bastyan Collection consists of individual pieces destined to be worn for seasons
to come, pieces that define the brand essence of providing a cool, clean,
understated vision of urbane luxury to its customer. Bastyan’s vision is to present its
customer with a well-edited offering of fashion solutions that are original, excellently
produced and competitively priced.


The show will be produced by one of the UKs most creative producers, John Walford
bringing the pizzazz of London Fashion Week to this extraordinary setting. Walford
originally worked with Vivienne Westwood, and has produced shows for designers
such as Stella McCartney and Donna Karan. He is also the founder and director of
the Vauxhall Fashion Scout, named as London’s leading showcase for fashion
innovation, which has just shown over twenty shows at London Fashion Week.
Joining Walford is high profile fashion stylist and editor of Fashion.Music.Style
magazine, Rebekah Roy, who is also hot from London Fashion Week.

Editors Notes

Bath in Fashion is the first event supported by the Bath Business Improvement District with
funding from Bath & North East Somerset Council.

From 1st to 28th October 2010 A majority of the Business ratepayers in the proposed BID who voted,
voted in favour of the proposal, both by aggregate rateable value and numbers voting. A Business
Improvement District will be established in Bath and will commence on 1st April 2011.

The BID will deliver three components : management of the city centre environment, marketing &
events and costs saving initiatives for businesses. The BID will generate £3.5 million over the next five
years.

2011 fashions on 2000 year old pavements

  • 1. 2011 FASHIONS ON 2000 YEAR OLD PAVEMENTS Designer fashions from Bath’s top boutiques will be paraded on 2000 year old pavements at the Roman Baths. Bath in Fashion 2011’s hot ticket is “Fashion n Fizz” on Thursday 24th March at 8.00pm. With nearly a million visitors from across the globe each year, the Roman Baths is an “A lister” attraction so a fitting setting for the cream of Bath’s boutiques and big night out for the city’s fashionistas. Bath’s independents are working with London Fashion Week producer John Walford and stylist, Rebekah Roy to create a stunning fashion event in this magical and unique location. The £30 ticket price includes a light supper and fizz, as well as a luxurious goodie bag. Leading independents like Mee, Prey, Blue now at Bath’s cool new venue, The Loft, and British Designers @Fashion Capital present their SS11 collections. Watch out for Betty Jackson and Orla Keilly by Prey; must have Belstaff jackets and Kate Middleton’s favourite brand Libelula by Mee; and Blue with their distinctive brands like OSKA and Annette Gortz. British Designers @ Fashion Capital is championing up and coming young designers like Zoe Boomer and Christian Blanken as well as designer fashion by Bora Aksu and Louise Amstrup and more.Watch out for accessories by LUX with bags by Anya Hindmarch and Mulberry and foot wear by Ash and Kat Maconie foot wear (a current favourite with Elle and Vogue ).Bath Spa University has courted guest designer, Bastyan who will be adding to the WOW factor with their urbane and luxurious designs. British Designers @ Fashion Capital will showcase London Fashion Week names such as Bora Aksu, Avsh Alom Gur, PPQ and Hannah Marshall, as well as up and
  • 2. coming designers, such as Isy & Peeps and Christian Blanken. Graduate collections and local talent are also featured, in line with the mentoring and support work provided by FashionCapital. Blue – The Loft is ideal for the adventurous and progressive dresser, with labels that you won’t find on the high street including Lilith, Elm Design and Rundholz. Prey offers an eclectic mix of gorgeous and glam design with Transit, Fred Perry, Olive & Orange, The Barn, Gustav, Maliparmi and Easy Comfort. Demonstrating how to accessorise and perfect an outfit, designer jewellery boutique Fabulous will showcase leading international brands such as Pandora and Thomas Sabo, and top designers like John Rocha and Lola Rose. Bastyan is a brand coming soon to Bath. Created by Tonia Bastyan, they will be working with the Fashion Course at Bath Spa University setting industry based projects. Tonia, who finds fashion inspiration in anything from ballet dancing to a piece of vintage cloth, will show that being stylish is more important than being on trend, with investment pieces that can transcend the seasons. The Bastyan Collection consists of individual pieces destined to be worn for seasons to come, pieces that define the brand essence of providing a cool, clean, understated vision of urbane luxury to its customer. Designer label Bastyan takes it name from its founder and designer, Tonia Bastyan. Bastyan’s vision is to present its customer with a well-edited offering of fashion solutions that are original, excellently produced and competitively priced. The show will be produced by one of the UKs most creative producers, John Walford bringing the pizzazz of London Fashion Week to this extraordinary setting. Walford originally worked with Vivienne Westwood, and has produced shows for designers such as Stella McCartney and Donna Karan. He is also the founder and director of the Vauxhall Fashion Scout, named as London’s leading showcase for fashion innovation, which has just shown over twenty shows at London Fashion Week. Joining Walford is high profile fashion stylist and editor of Fashion.Music.Style magazine, Rebekah Roy, who is also hot from London Fashion Week.

From 1st to 28th October 2010 A majority of the Business ratepayers in the proposed BID who voted, voted in favour of the proposal, both by aggregate rateable value and numbers voting. A Business Improvement District will be established in Bath and will commence on 1st April 2011. The BID will deliver three components : management of the city centre environment, marketing & events and costs saving initiatives for businesses. The BID will generate £3.5 million over the next five years.
