American alligators live in America and eat a variety of animals including fish, turtles, birds, and mammals. They can weigh between 800 to 1,032 pounds as adults and 12 to 15 pounds as babies, and have a lifespan of 73 to 100 years. Alligators have changed little since dinosaurs and are not currently endangered.
