Eternal life refers to the gift of God that comes through faith in Jesus Christ. It is described as a present possession for believers, not something that is attained after death. Eternal life involves a true, personal knowledge of God and Jesus Christ, not just an academic awareness. One receives eternal life by confessing their sins before God and accepting Jesus as their savior through faith in his atoning death and resurrection.
John’s account of the death of Jesus Christ is examined using John’s affirmation that it is true, pointing to the fulfillment of prophecy, and most importantly that the work of redemption is finished as Jesus cried out in triumph. This lesson focus' on the final point.

The classic passage from the Bible that answers this question is John 3:1-21. The Lord Jesus the Christ is talking to Nicodemus, a prominent Pharisee and member of the Sanhedrin (the ruling body of the Jews). Nicodemus had come to Jesus at night with some questions.
"Focus!" is a message I gave at GCF South Metro's Youth Worship, dated May 21, 2017.
Introduction:
Believe it or not, our values shape our decisions. They offer clearer answers to why we do what we do. Yes, external factors are to be considered, but ultimately, our choices are largely based on the values that lie deep within the core of our being. Our actions are expressions of an inward reality. Therefore, there is a critical call for us to have a constant, honest check of the heart.
Summary:
If the lordship of Jesus Christ of utmost importance in our lives, then two things become warranted: we walk with Jesus with undivided devotion, which results in wholehearted obedience. It is always from the inside going out!
1. An undivided devotion to Jesus must be our prime motivation.
2. A wholehearted obedience to Jesus must be our prime response.
Application: How do we develop our FOCUS?
1. Face the constant reality that we need Jesus.
2. Organize your private world. (Get your values and priorities right!)
3. Constantly evaluate your life.
4. Use your time, treasures, and talents wisely.
5. Share your life and serve together with a Christ-centered community.

Because of the Fall, our basic orientation is a falling away from our Creator.
The result? God has become a stranger, and we have become strangers to ourselves.
And Jesus has come to show us the way back to God through his life, death, & resurrection from the dead.

Jesus proclaims to his disciples that he has overcome the world. The world is the Satanic way of thinking that has corrupted this world. Jesus helps us to understand that through the work of the Holy Spirit the world is convicted concerning sin, righteousness and judgment. When we believe in Jesus we can have forgiveness of sins, eternal life, and we overcome the world through him.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

May 2016
“Nowthis iseternal life: that they know you,the onlytrue God,and Jesus Christ, whomyou have sent”
(John17:3).
Whenthe Bible speaksof eternal life, itreferstoagiftof God that can only come only“throughJesus
Christour Lord” as statedin Romans 6:23, ““
For the wages of sinis death, but the giftof Godis eternal
lifein ChristJesus our Lord”.This giftof Godis eternal lifein ChristJesus our Lord isin contrastto the
“death”that is the natural resultof sin. The giftof eternal life comestothose whobelieve inJesus
Christ, whoisHimself “the resurrectionandthe life” aswe can learn from John11:25, “Jesussaidto
her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one whobelieves in me will live, even thoughthey die”.
The fact that thislife is“eternal”indicatesthatitis perpetuallife—itgoesonandonand on,withno

It isa mistake, however, toview eternal life assimplyanunendingprogressionof years.A commonNew

eternal life isnotreallyassociatedwith“years”atall,as itis independentof time.Eternal life can
functionoutside of andbeyondtime, aswell aswithintime. Forthisreason, eternal life canbe thought
of as somethingthatChristiansexperience now.Believersdon’thave to“wait”foreternal life,because

The Bible inextricablylinkseternal life withthe Personof JesusChrist. InJohn17 we can learnof an
importantpassage inthisregard,as Jesusprays,““Nowthisis eternal life: that they know you,the only
true God,andJesus Christ,whomyou have sent” (John17:3). Here,Jesusequates“eternal life”with ‘a
knowledge’of Godandof the Son.There is no knowledge of Godwithoutthe Son,foritis throughthe
Son thatthe FatherrevealsHimself tothe elect aswe can learnfrom John 17:6, “I have revealed you[a]
to those whom yougave me out of the world. They were yours; yougave them to me andthey have
obeyed your word” andagain inJohn 14:9, “Jesusanswered: “Don’tyou know me, Philip, evenafter I
