Experiments
Alfie Ingram
Process
In my first experiment, I made an animation of a basketball
going through a hoop. I used photoshop to create it,
using different layers to move the ball around and make
it look as if the ball was moving into the net.
This was difficult to do at first since I hadn’t done
photoshop in quite a while but got easier when I begun
to understand what I was doing.

• What elements of your experiments will you include in your
final product?
In my final product I might try and do quite a simple but
effective idea for my game such as shooting a basketball.
Often the more simple ideas are the more effective in
games and also because I spent too much time on my last
project coming up with a complicated idea and in the end
couldn’t do it .
Process
For my second animation, I did two cars
chasing each other. The car behind is meant
to be a police car and the car in front is
being chased by the police car
I kept making duplicates of the blue car and
adding two black dots behind it each time.
This was so it looked like the car was
creating tire tracks.
I also made the police lights switch colour by
duplicating the layer of the first car and
changing the colours of the sirens and
switching between the copy and the original
car in each frame.

• What elements of your experiments will you include in your
final product?
I think I will include a similar style of game e.g a limitless
runner style car game.
I might include an interesting colour scheme in my final
product, using bright colours.
Whatever game style I choose to do, I want to include an
interesting setting for the game that would keep the
player interested. This could be at the beach or
somewhere else.
Process
For this animation I duplicated the
two cars that I used in the last
animation. I put the cars at
another angle so it is like a
limitless runner game. I made the
car swerve past a car in front and
then drive over a stunt ramp.
I tried to make the car look like it
was getting higher up after
jumping the ramp by duplicating it
and increasing the size each time.

• What elements of your experiments will you include in
your final product?
I think I will include the same top down view view for
my final product. Having a top down view is a lot
more easy for me to animate than a viewpoint such
as 3rd person which is hard to do in 2d.
I will maybe do a game involving something to do
with cars. I could do a limitless runner game like my
third experiment.
