This document summarizes a study comparing 10mm plastazote insoles to micro cellular polymer (MCP) and cork insoles for treating foot problems in diabetic patients. 54 patients were included in the study and split into two groups, with one group using plastazote insoles and the other using MCP and cork insoles for 6-8 weeks. Results showed both materials provided significant pressure relief and similar improvements according to foot scans and tests, suggesting MCP and cork can be suitable replacements for plastazote insoles.

2. Back ground
 Negligence towards the foot and poor
knowledge about footwear makes people
present foot complications, resulting in
amputations. Diabetics especially, suffering
from neurological and circulation problems
present with various foot problems. Pressure
distribution is the main criteria where special
orthotics can help. So this trail was made to
accomadate new practices .

 Patients computer foot scan was repeated

compared to previous scans
 Tests pre and post was done bare foot
 4 patients there was no follow up because
of other medical reasons (plasto users)
 1 patient droped out of study(plasto users)
 49 patients showed similar improvements

Conclusion
 Healing period was similar to 10mm
plastazote insole compared to mcp with
cork .
