Hi France24 Iht Harris Poll Leaders Barometer April2009Luis Nassif
The document summarizes the results of a poll conducted in the US and 5 major European countries on opinions of various world leaders. It finds that President Obama is far more popular internationally than any other leader, with an average of 80% having a positive opinion of him across the 6 countries polled. No other leader comes close to this level of popularity. The only leader with a similarly high opinion is the Dalai Lama at 74%. The document also analyzes differences in popularity between leaders' home countries and abroad and changes in opinions over time.
The document discusses how OpenStreetMap data can be used to create printable maps on laser cutters to help with disaster relief. Maps are created using OpenStreetMap data in QGIS and Inkscape, then cut with a laser cutter. Examples given include maps with push pins that can be used for board games, and cellophane paper maps for disaster risk management. The maps are intended to provide location information if electrical infrastructure is destroyed during a natural disaster.
On the ability of a cable-driven robot to generate a prescribed set of wrenchesSamuel Bouchard
The document summarizes research into using a cable-driven robot to generate different wrenches (forces and torques) at a platform. It discusses representing the set of all possible wrenches (A) using zonotopes and different algorithms like convex hull and hyperplane shifting to calculate A from the cable tensions (T). The goal is to enable the robot to perform different tasks by generating the required wrenches through varying cable tensions while considering the robot's degrees of freedom and constraints.

In the spirit of complete transparency I wanted to present some client deliverables. The following presentation has been redacted, but the fundamental core thinking remains intact.
And while many of you are wondering why I would let people see "the secret sauce" I am a firm believer in exchange of information. Moreover, as the rise of the personal brand increases exponentially with the power of social and content marketing will truly differentiate us as our ability to think for our clients and nurture their respective goals outcomes.
This presentation is broken down into two parts — one outlines a proposal for social event activation on a enterprise scale. While the second part breaks out in larger idea of the construction of a content channel housed within a brand.
I hope you find the following information both beneficial and thought-provoking. As always, I would love to hear your thoughts. My very best to you and your future efforts.

A standalone low-cost mobile prototype with accurate localization capabilities and communicating environmental measurements in real-time can definitely expand the current picture of urban data characterized by limited spatio-temporal resolution. Sensor data enrichment with kinematics, high-frequency and robust positioning data plays a crucial role in IoT devices for mobile microclimatic monitoring application. Indeed, spatially enriched real time kinematic sensors lead directly to fast, reliable and accurate information over-time. This, in turn, allows to create added-value services (smart cities, transportation, e-health, smart home, social, etc.) for life quality improvement of urban communities. The design, prototyping and experimental activities have got funded the DPS4ESLAB project.

The document discusses the need for an integrated NASA strategy for autonomy and automation (AR&D) capabilities. It notes that NASA programs currently spend up to 10 times more than necessary and take twice as long to develop AR&D capabilities by "reinventing the wheel" for each program. The NASA AR&D Community of Practice recommends developing an "AR&D Warehouse" of reusable hardware and software components to reduce costs and development time across programs. An integrated agency strategy requiring some initial investment could save over $500 million and 16 years of development over the next decade.
This document discusses Google Map APIs, Google Cloud Messaging (GCM), and how to embed Google Maps in an Android application. It provides details on applying for a Google Maps API key, adding internet permissions, and using location services like GPS, WiFi and cell ID. It also includes a link to an example carpool application on the Google Play Store that demonstrates these concepts.
The document presents a strategy proposed by NASA's AR&D Community of Practice to address NASA's history of developing autonomous and automated rendezvous and docking (AR&D) capabilities for individual programs rather than taking an integrated agency approach. The strategy calls for developing an "AR&D Warehouse" - a library of reusable AR&D hardware and software components with standardized interfaces. This would provide 80% of the AR&D capability needed for future missions at much lower costs compared to current single-program approaches. The strategy argues that an integrated, evolutionary development approach coordinated across NASA centers is needed to realize the benefits of the Warehouse concept.

RedisConf17 - Geofencing using Redis Geospatial QueriesRedis Labs
Appboy uses Redis to cache geofence data for location-based queries and segmentations. Geofences are stored in Redis using geospatial commands like GEOADD and GEORADIUS. This improves query performance over directly accessing the primary MongoDB datastore. Potential optimizations include caching full geofence datasets instead of just results, and using Lua scripts to sort results directly in Redis.
React’s suitability to develop Geospatial solutions.pdfMindfire LLC
This document discusses the suitability of React for developing geospatial solutions. It begins by defining geospatial data as information that describes things or events with a position on Earth, along with characteristics and temporal data. Geospatial information systems (GIS) allow visualization of geospatial data by mapping it. The document then provides examples of geospatial data and advantages of using it. It discusses geospatial applications in transportation and healthcare. React is highlighted as a cutting-edge technology that easily updates user interfaces when data changes. Finally, the document summarizes that React increases productivity and stability for geospatial solutions development.
The document summarizes 6 stories about maps from around the world:
1) South Korea's national mapping agency will provide 50,000 free digital maps to the public, continuing a trend of maps becoming free and commoditized.
2) Pokémon Go players in South Korea were able to play in Sokcho due to a mapping glitch, reminding people how important maps are.
3) OpenStreetMap was founded in 2004 to allow anyone to collaboratively map the world for free in response to limitations of government and commercial maps. It now has over 2 million mappers.
4) The Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team maps disaster-stricken areas like the Philippines quickly to provide relief organizations with up
This document discusses OpenStreetMap (OSM) and the characteristics of a "NeoGeographer". Some key points:
- OSM is an open-source map of the world that anyone can edit or use. It aims to provide an alternative to proprietary map data from companies like Google Maps.
- A "NeoGeographer" is someone who contributes geospatial data to digital maps using modern tools, as opposed to traditional "Old Geographers" who worked in the past.
- OSM data is licensed under the Open Database License which allows for reuse and modification of the map data. In contrast, Google Maps does not allow for free secondary use or modification of its map content.

Editor's Notes
16:30 to 17:00 - "Indoor Positioning and Mapping" The IMES (Indoor Messaging System) consortium and Creative City Consortium want to report about their latest activities in an " Indoor Positioning and Mapping Project " at the Edge City, Futako-Tamagawa in Tokyo. At the session the project team will explain what IMES is and report about their indoor positioning and mapping experiences in Futako-Tamagawa, a so called Edge City for living, working and shopping. Beside a demonstration of IMES and how to integrate the collected data into OSM they would like to meet other OSM community members, that are active or interested in indoor mapping, and discuss about specific indoor mapping topics.
YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TyvnT2jfgGc http://www.g-mark.org/award/detail.html?id=38185 Honda Internavi is a navigation system that recommends routes based on real-time traffic data collected via the 3G network from other Internavi-equipped Honda vehicles. By color-coding roads based on accessibility, Honda has converted a complex set of data into an easy to read real-time map. The Internavi network became a vital tool for recovery following the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami that rocked Northeastern Japan. Within 20 hours of the quake Honda’s Internavi system identified the roads that remained intact based on 3G network traffic analysis, making it possible to find ways to get rescue workers, heavy equipment and supplies such as water, food, clothing and blankets to the places that needed help. The project was awarded a Yellow Pencil for Digital Design at the D&AD Awards.
