Photography genres and examples
Photography is vast. It can be event photography, portrait photography,
commercial photography, as well as many other types of photography
(interior / outdoors / landscape / cityscape / lifestyle / macro….).
All genres are interesting and have a niche of their own. As an example
inside the genre “landscape photography” I was amazed to discover
photographers like Peter Wong make a living apparently only from “golf
course photography”.
Each genre is complementary with the others. Example: Portrait and
landscape / cityscape. Often even for our family photos we have to take
pictures of people in different environments, in the wild or in the heart of
the city. So knowing about both genres is key.
All classes come up useful. The more practice we get with light, posing,
composition, the more experience we will have. Through knowledge step
by step we reach wisdom.
