An honour killing is when a family member murders another family member because they believe the victim brought dishonour upon the family, usually females but sometimes males. The Quran highly values life and only permits taking a life in very limited circumstances of murder or large-scale corruption. Nowhere does the Quran allow taking the law into one's own hands or acting as judge, jury, and executioner. The only acts punishable by death mentioned are murder and widespread corruption, not sex without marriage or compromising family honor. The Quran stresses equivalence in punishment and forgiveness.
