 A 1957 American film
 Written by Reginald Rose
 Directed by Sidney Lumet
 Story of a jury made up of
12 men
 Notable for its almost
exclusive use of 12
actors and one location
 7th film in IMDB with
rating 8.9
 Movie starts with a
courtroom scene
 Members of the
jury must decide
for the fate of a boy
 He is accused for
murdering his own
father
 11 members are
pretty sure about
his guilt while 12th
man is not
 He believes that the
case must be
reviewed deeply
again, because of
what he calls his
“reasonable doubt”
 He starts convincing
the other jurors, but it
seems to be pointless
 He wants the jurors
to vote again
 This time another
person votes “not
guilty”
 He continues
discussing and his
reasons changes
another member’s
opinion gradually
 As the movie
continues, the
number of jurors
voting “not guilty”
increases.
 His arguments
continues till
there is only one
person believing
the accused is
guilty
 He convinces the
last juror too and
makes the vote
unanimous,
“Not Guilty”
 It doesn’t use common techniques to
impress the audience
 Instead, it takes advantage of rich and
universal content
1- superficial attractiveness
2- logical attractiveness
 Hard work ,
patience, and
persistence
 12 Angry Men is a
successful example
of religious cinema
 Is not
 Movies about
prophets
 Showing
religious acts
 It is
 Showing the
attractiveness of
Islamic thoughts
and life style that
exist in human
nature
 12 Angry Men can be a good model for
our filmmakers
 They should know that a good movie
doesn’t need much cost, it just needs
more thinking.
