The document describes several 4sq apps and services including Local Mind, QA, Soundtracking, Playgrounds 411, TripsQ, foursqWAR, and forecast. Each app or service is listed along with the APIs it uses from 4sq, Twitter, Google, and others to provide location-based functionality and access to user check-in data.
State of the API: Insights Into the Future of APIsPostman
The document discusses the state of APIs based on a survey of over 13,500 API professionals. It finds that while developers make up over half of API professionals, non-developers are also significant users. The top obstacles to producing and consuming APIs are lack of time for production and lack of documentation for consumption. The future of APIs is predicted to include continued investment and focus on microservices and serverless architectures.
A walkthrough of the current state of APIs and the future trends of APIs. Presented at Nordic APIs in Stockholm in March 2013. More information about Nordic APIs at nordicapis.com or twitter.com/nordicapis.
The document discusses the SkyWay API and integrating reCAPTCHA verification into the SkyWay API authentication process. It provides a link to a demo integrating reCAPTCHA with SkyWay on GitHub Pages and Heroku. The goal is to create a proof of concept for using reCAPTCHA from Google to verify users through the SkyWay API client applications.
This document describes how to use the ROVER-API to control a ground robot (rover) remotely. The API contains five key functions - getipaddress() to scan for rover IP addresses on the network, forward() and reverse() to move the rover full speed forward or backward, and left() and right() to turn the rover half speed to the left or right. Each function requires passing the IP address of the targeted rover as an argument.
The document discusses DevOps and the DevOps journey. It covers topics like continuous integration, continuous delivery, containers, configuration management tools, orchestration, infrastructure as code, and AWS services. The overarching goal of DevOps is to create a smooth workflow from development to operations.
This document discusses approaches for automating tests for microservices. It recommends automating each microservice separately with unit, integration, component, contract, and end-to-end tests. Unit tests should be implemented by developers and focus on positive and corner cases. Integration tests check how services work with persistence layers and APIs. Component tests exercise the main functionality through public APIs. Contract tests validate the semantics of service interactions without testing functionality. End-to-end tests cover business flows and platform dependencies. The document emphasizes running tests locally and using tools like Docker, WireMock, Pact and Spring Cloud Contract.

Mission Espada was founded in 1690 and moved to San Antonio in 1731, where it was renamed Mission Espada. The mission was large and spacious, surrounded by trees, with the only water source being a nearby river. The native Nabedache Indians who lived there originally were not friendly, but the Coahuiltecan Indians who lived there after the relocation were friendly. Life at the mission involved farming, ranching, and other manual labor to survive, as well as religious teachings from the missionaries.

The document discusses border safety issues between El Paso, Texas and Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. It notes that over 30,000 people have been killed in Juarez since 2006, with the death toll estimated at 6,500 since 2008, making it one of the deadliest cities in the world. While El Paso has a population of over 620,000, there is believed to be a lack of communication between the city government and national government regarding border reinforcement. The document proposes potential solutions such as requesting more help from the U.S. government and conducting a SWOT analysis to improve border safety.

This document proposes developing an online database management system to replace the manual system used by the Training and Placement Cell at YCCE college. The proposed system would allow students to create accounts and enter their personal and educational details online. Administrators could then verify the student data and filter students according to company needs for campus recruitment. Key benefits include reducing manual work, allowing remote student data entry, and removing errors from the previous spreadsheet-based system. Tables and relationships for the database design are provided along with algorithms to ensure unique student accounts and data validation. Screenshots of sample database tables and the student registration form are also included.

Webinar: Designing a schema for a Data WarehouseFederico Razzoli
Are you new to data warehouses (DWH)? Do you need to check whether your data warehouse follows the best practices for a good design? In both cases, this webinar is for you.
A data warehouse is a central relational database that contains all measurements about a business or an organisation. This data comes from a variety of heterogeneous data sources, which includes databases of any type that back the applications used by the company, data files exported by some applications, or APIs provided by internal or external services.
But designing a data warehouse correctly is a hard task, which requires gathering information about the business processes that need to be analysed in the first place. These processes must be translated into so-called star schemas, which means, denormalised databases where each table represents a dimension or facts.
We will discuss these topics:
- How to gather information about a business;
- Understanding dictionaries and how to identify business entities;
- Dimensions and facts;
- Setting a table granularity;
- Types of facts;
- Types of dimensions;
- Snowflakes and how to avoid them;
- Expanding existing dimensions and facts.

HCL Notes and Domino License Cost Reduction in the World of DLAUpanagenda
Webinar Recording: https://www.panagenda.com/webinars/hcl-notes-and-domino-license-cost-reduction-in-the-world-of-dlau/
The introduction of DLAU and the CCB & CCX licensing model caused quite a stir in the HCL community. As a Notes and Domino customer, you may have faced challenges with unexpected user counts and license costs. You probably have questions on how this new licensing approach works and how to benefit from it. Most importantly, you likely have budget constraints and want to save money where possible. Don’t worry, we can help with all of this!
We’ll show you how to fix common misconfigurations that cause higher-than-expected user counts, and how to identify accounts which you can deactivate to save money. There are also frequent patterns that can cause unnecessary cost, like using a person document instead of a mail-in for shared mailboxes. We’ll provide examples and solutions for those as well. And naturally we’ll explain the new licensing model.
Join HCL Ambassador Marc Thomas in this webinar with a special guest appearance from Franz Walder. It will give you the tools and know-how to stay on top of what is going on with Domino licensing. You will be able lower your cost through an optimized configuration and keep it low going forward.
These topics will be covered
- Reducing license cost by finding and fixing misconfigurations and superfluous accounts
- How do CCB and CCX licenses really work?
