A boy and his dog go for a walk. The boy and his dog enjoy their walk in the park. When they return home, the boy documents their adventure on bug cards.
Henry Hobson Richardson was an American architect born in 1838 in Louisiana. He studied in New Orleans and Paris and is considered the first American architect for breaking from European traditions. He developed the Richardsonian Romanesque style characterized by stone walls, arched windows, and dynamic interior spaces. His most famous work was Trinity Church in Boston constructed from 1872-1877, which featured a clay roof, rough stone, heavy arches, and a massive tower. Geometry played an important role in the symmetrical and Victorian design of the church, ensuring its structural integrity and longevity.
This document summarizes a webinar presented by Healthy City on how data and mapping can support outreach and enrollment efforts for expanding health coverage in California. It provides an overview of Healthy City's mission and services, including developing targeted research strategies and an online mapping tool. The webinar demonstrates how to use the mapping tool to research populations eligible for new health coverage options, map current outreach efforts, and identify opportunities to coordinate and target resources. Attendees learn about relevant data layers on the tool and are invited to ask questions about their own outreach goals and research needs.

The student had an easy time in their woodworking lesson. They used familiar tools like tenon saws and pull saws, and were introduced to a new tool, the coping saw, which is useful for cutting inside curved surfaces. The student completed their cuts successfully, with only minor issues of accidentally cutting their finger and a small piece of wood chipping off. They felt the lesson related to being an inquirer as they asked questions of their teacher and classmates.
The career development PLT meeting covered the following topics:
1) Goals for updating Moodle, wikis, blogs and planning the upcoming career fair.
2) Discussing ePortfolio goals and artifacts to enhance the 21st century competencies.
3) An update that transcript request forms are now available online.
4) Brief updates on Royal Conservatory of Music credits and apprenticeship programs.
5) Setting future meeting dates before adjourning.

HealthyCity.org Webinar - Advanced TrainingHealthy City
This document provides an overview and introduction to Healthy City, which is an online platform and organization that aims to solve social inequities through data, technology, research, and community engagement. Healthy City provides data and tools to support stakeholders working on issues like public health, education, housing, and more. It also outlines features of the HealthyCity.org website that allow users to customize data displays, analyze data, map services, and share stories and collaborations.
The student cut wood into a triangular shape for a doorstop project. Shaping the wood precisely required considering the appropriate tools and cut sizes. With teacher guidance, the student drew design lines on the wood and began cutting along the lines using different saws. Some cuts were not fully completed but will be finished in the next lesson. The process related to thinking critically about the design and cuts, as well as relying on human ingenuity to independently work on the project.
J Robert Hunter Antitrust Senate Mc Carran Repeal Health Insurance Testimo...Wayne Rohde
This document is the testimony of J. Robert Hunter, Director of Insurance for the Consumer Federation of America, before the Senate Judiciary Committee regarding prohibiting anticompetitive conduct in the health insurance industry. Hunter argues that the McCarran-Ferguson Act's antitrust exemption for insurers should be repealed to protect consumers from anticompetitive practices. He provides examples of insurers colluding to artificially lower payments and use unfair policy provisions, and argues that repealing the exemption would subject insurers to the same antitrust laws as other industries.
Community Research Lab Workshops_2014_and 2015Healthy City

The goal is to provide skills for communities to lead their own research on issues impacting their neighborhoods.
This document provides definitions and perspectives on the Indian middle class. It defines the middle class as roughly 10% of Indians, or 100 million people, who earn more than 10 times the per capita income. The document discusses the education system in India and how it caters to the middle class, focusing on professional degrees but lacking emphasis on humanities. It also examines the thoughts and views of the Indian middle class, such as their opposition to caste-based affirmative action programs.
Leadership: a body without a head, a web without a spidermore like people
As usual, some of these slides will mean nothing if you're not hearing me narrate and ask questions along the way, but this was a Birkbeck College session about thinking of leadership as a collective, rather than individual concept. Bits of complexity, social media and self-organised networks stuff in there too... and Slideshare didn't like some of my fonts... c'est la vie!
A Holistic Approach to Women s Health, Data and MappingHealthy City
In this webinar we will discuss:
* Changing the lens when analyzing data on women’s health by considering mind/body/spirit
*A day in the life of two women: what do women need to lead comprehensive healthy lives?
*Tools and resources available on HealthyCity.org
*Moving from information to action
University of Manchester PGT Administrator ETD Briefing SessionPhilip Butler
The document summarizes a briefing session for postgraduate administrators on deploying electronic theses and dissertations (ETDs). It covers key concepts around ETD submissions, including submission windows, states, scenarios, and managing the submission process. Administrators are asked to review the materials, discuss how to implement ETD submissions locally, and identify staff for training to start supporting students in submitting ETDs electronically.
This document provides an overview of simulation using GHDL for verifying digital designs. It discusses that simulation is important for detecting errors in a design early to reduce costs. Verification through simulation involves creating test benches to test a design against different input combinations. For large designs, decomposition is used to break them into smaller components that can be simulated more easily. The document advocates for using the open-source GHDL simulator, noting the benefits of understanding and improving open-source software. It provides instructions for installing GHDL on Linux and Windows and discusses using text editors like Vim or Gedit when working with GHDL. Coding best practices like commenting and readability are also mentioned.
The document discusses two main types of steel production and their environmental impacts. Blast oxygen furnace steel production uses iron ore, coal and limestone with minimal recycled content and emits 5.3 tonnes of CO2 per tonne. Electric arc furnace production uses 100% recycled steel and emits 2.3 tonnes of CO2 per tonne. It then focuses on Abbeysteel, a brand that uses reused steel which saves 7.5 tonnes of CO2 for every tonne reused compared to primary production methods.
Drawing on the work of Hahrie Han, Dan Pink, Clay Shirky, Jim Coe and myself, this presentation looks to help campaigners understand motivation in the context of organising people to take action around social/environmental aims.
