The Plymouth River School's 1000 Book Club Program allows children to register online to begin checking out book bags from the school. Each bag contains books and a sign out card that parents sign when checking out and returning the bag within 2 weeks. As children complete bags, their progress is logged and they earn stickers and incentives for reaching milestones of 25, 50, 75, and 100 bags read. The program guidelines specify that only one bag can be checked out at a time and returned within 2 weeks, and that bags are available for exchange when school is in session or during specified hours on vacations.

2. How can my child become a
1000 Book Club Kid?
Register for the program
online. Once your
registration has been
received, you will be
contacted to begin the
program and sign out your
first book bag.

3. Select a bag from one of the book racks
located in the front foyer at PRS.

4. Each bag has a “Self-Service Sign-Out Procedure ”
card. On the back of this card is a photo list of the
books that should be in that bag. Verify that all the
books are the bag BEFORE you sign out the bag.

pocket of each bag.
•Parents should sign
their child’s name and
the current date on the
card and place it in a
index card box behind
the number which
corresponds to the
number of the bag.

6. Read and enjoy the
books at home.

7. Please return the bag within
2 weeks. Remove the card
from the index box, cross
off your child’s name, and
replace the card in the
pocket of the book bag.
Find your child’s record
sheet in the 1000 Book
Club notebook and write
the date next to the bag
that has been completed.

Use the stickers from your “Journey to 1000 Books”
folder to help you reach each milestone!

fill out an INCENTIVE
sheet (located in the
1000 Book Club binder
and online) and place it
in the 1000 Book Club
bin.

11. What if a book is missing from the bag we are
taking (or returning)?
Place the bag in the 1000 Book Club bin. Be sure
to check the books that belong in the bag both
BEFORE you sign it out, and again when you
RETURN it. There is a list in each bag of the books
that belong in that bag.
Families will be held accountable for the
books/bags signed out to them.
How many bags may we take at one time?
Please take only ONE bag at a time and return it
within two (2) weeks.

12. When may we exchange bags?
When school is in session - 7:00 a.m. until
4:00 p.m.
During school vacations - 7:00 a.m. until
2:00 p.m.
Please DO NOT park in the bus loop.

13. This IS the right program for you if…
• you return bags within a two-week period or
sooner.
• you check your bags/booklist prior to leaving
PRS and again before returning them.
• you don’t need to be contacted to return
overdue bags, missing books or booklists.
