• Suburban, wealthy perfect little American
town.
• Clean, hot, bright, sunny.
• Set at a school.

3. Camera Work
• Panning establishing shot of city, lets audience
know that it is based in a city.
• Crane shot of school setting.

4. Editing
• Shot reverse shot creates tension between the
“cool girls” and the “outsider.”
• Establishes that there is rivalry between the
girls.
• Cuts to kids playing outside a
school, immediately we know that it is about
students at a school.

5. Font / Titles
• Animated, moving graphic titles.
• Funky youth orientated credits.

6. Music
• Poppy rock and roll. Then changes when we
meet the outsider at the traffic lights to indie
rock.
• When we first meet outsider the first line of
lyrics is ‘I don’t give a damn about my
reputation.’ this shows that she is selfish and
you can clearly see has no friends as she has
nobody in the car with her.
