Salvation comes through God's abundant grace and mercy alone, not by any human works or merits. Grace is receiving God's favor despite our sinfulness. All humanity was enslaved to sin until Jesus purchased our freedom through his death on the cross. God's plan of salvation includes justification, regeneration, sanctification, and redemption. His saving grace restores what was lost and offers spiritual riches to all who confess their sin, accept Christ's sacrifice, and believe in him. Examining one's life for remaining sins and sharing the gospel with others are important applications of understanding salvation.
