Session title
Preparing for assessments
Content covered
Have enough knowledge on the university assessments before
you start doing it.
Comments on readings/practice.
Making study plan and Managing time are the best method to
have the peace of mind.
Most interesting points
Feeling organised when finish multiple assessments in the right
time.
Most difficult points
Reading the academic articles and find the relative information
that supports my topic, How to discuss more in depth.
· Introduction
The above session provided the best academic and coordination
skills by explained the multiple essential tips of preparing
properly for the assessments and considering the times
determinant, which encouraged me to think and write
professionally.
· Reflection Discussion on the study plan for assessments
As the English language is my second tongue, I have faced
many difficulties with reading and writing academic articles. I
found the above topic has a significant impact positively to
prepare my assessments in advance, especially when it displays
at the beginning of my first semester in the university.
However, an ongoing experience on what I gained from this
session has a huge impact on me. For instance, after this
session, I organised a table that shows each type of the
assessments separately, and each one has its basics and
elements in its allotted box. As a result, while I’m doing my
estimates, I refer to my table and find my structures ready,
which helps me seize the time and be more skilled.
· Reflection Discussion on prepare well for my assessments.
As I'm in my first year at the university, I thought there was no
need to have an entire assessments plan. Later on, I noticed that
working on assessments without organising a plan affects the
whole semester assessments, which might cause time conflict in
the Assignments due date. I wasn't aware of how important it is
the preparing and reading enough sources before start writing.
However, Glancing and reading enough information can convert
the assessment from stress work to exciting work, which will
help set the scene and allow me to think critically and write
academically. Based on the benefits that I acquired from the
session, the critical thinking and in depth discussion in a
particular topic will need to be supported by academic
information from reading more articles and spend more time on
this part of the work. After this session, I became able to
organise my assessments, which allow me to have enough time
to working on them and preventing some of the study stresses
and cramming. Also, I have been able to take a period to refresh
my mind and get my memory retention. However, there is no
doubt that it encouraged me to provide the work in a prime
manner. This experience will be beneficial in my subsequent
semesters to develop my ability to be further organised in my
study and aware of how to prepare before the assessments.

Referencing
Content covered
How to reference, paraphrase, why and when.
Comments on readings/practice.
Away from the plagiarism, the referencing is to save my right
and the right of other authors too.
Most interesting points
Paraphrasing and referencing some of the strong ideas and use it
in my work. Can share my thought with no fear of the
plagiarism.
Most difficult points
Avoiding plagiarism. Differentiate between the APA references
and the other referencing styles.
· Introduction
This session explains the purpose of referencing and what
plagiarism means, also how to reference and why. An important
session like the above session has a significantly influential role
in improving students' awareness of the copyright and the
meaning of plagiarism.
· Reflection Discussion on the entire referencing session
While I am confident in what I have gained from the foundation
course regarding references and paraphrase, rapid referencing
correctly is a skill I hope to improve further as the
professionally paraphrasing and referencing supports the
assignment value incredibly. In addition, the ability to reference
and paraphrase is an important skill that causes me to feel
confident in reading/perusing any articles without fear of taking
strong passages with avoiding plagiarism. When I studied this
session and did my first assignment, it was challenging to
follow structures that I recently learned. I felt that my work has
become more reliable and robust than last year's work because I
knew what to paraphrase and reference. Also, I had an idea of
the differences between the elements of the reference styles,
which allowed me to rephrase, referencing the concepts related
to my topic professionally. However, upon seeing the feedback
of my draft, I felt disheartened, but once I understand that and
read the lecturer comments, I realised that mistakes were
worthy additions to the deliverable, which support my
knowledge of how the mistakes could happen in the references
field and trying to avoid them in the subsequent assignments. It
clarifies that the benefits and the effectiveness of this session
led me to recognise some tips and tricks in paraphrasing
Sufficiently concepts, ideas, and theories. Preserving the value
publications given by the lecturer and writing some notes on
what I have learned may be helpful for the long term in my
study career.
Conclusion
1. What were your original motivations for going to University?
Self-education and learning new experiences are the first step to
accustom my brain to be more aware. A perfect education
precedes every successful plan, so if I want to achieve my goals
successfully and have a prestigious job desired. I must educate
myself and get my scientific Certificate obtained by studying
my field of interest in the University. Moreover, Certificate is
the first requirement to apply for a job which means it is
relative to my practical life, which encourages me to reach what
I planned enthusiastically.
2. What were your original motivations for studying your
selected degree?
I have two main motivations that encourage me to study
Tourism & Event. The first one because I am a person who grow
up in a country that the tourism field was mostly neglected. The
second motivation is that currentl y my country is imposing a
project called 2030 vision which Is greatly focusing on the
tourism industry and events. Therefore, I would like gaily to
make my mark on developing my field of interest there as they
are in the beginning of the project.
3. What is your preferred choice of career (or specific job) after
graduating?
My preferred career choice is to work in the new Saudi tourism
ministry to implement multiple projects that benefit the industry
globally and of course my country. Specifically, I want to
manage a huge Events projects that serving international
tourism in my country.
4. Why is this your preferred career choice (or specific job)?
When I travelled to many places worldwide, I noticed that my
country is not qualified enough in the Tourism and event
industry. As a result, I aspire to improve the country in this
field to be one of the best destinations internationally, As there
are much priceless heritage and stunning places that are not
known by the other.
5. Have you previous (or continuing) experience of working in
the tourism or events industry? If, yes, what experience do you
have? Were/are your experiences positive or negative?
My previous positive practical experience working in the
events industry was working in Almashaaer Al Mugaddassah
metro line in Makah City, which led me to experience how to
communicate with others and manage a large number of people
neatly and prevent crowding and the stampede between people.
6. What skills and knowledge do you feel you will need to
possess when graduating to have a successful chance of
pursuing your preferred career path or job?
Firstly, there is no doubt that the English language is one of the
important skill that required for applying in any job, which
might increase the chance to have my preferred career. Second
the related experiences to my field that I skilled while I'm
studying or before. Third, the enough and developed knowledge
of the major that I learned is significantly influencing to have a
chance to my preferred job.
7. What core topics do you feel will be most influential in
developing the knowledge required for pursuing your preferred
career path or your specific job?
I think the historical tourism and events topics are the most
influence on me, which make me gained the knowledge in a
broad perspective. I would be able to compare the previous and
the present, which will lead me to conclude the overall industry
and how it was working and how it is working now. As a result,
in my career, I will be able to charcuteries the weakness and the
strength of developing the tourism and event based on the
ancient experiences.

However, Glancing and reading enough information can convert the assessment from stress work to exciting work, which will help set the scene and allow me to think critically and write academically. Based on the benefits that I acquired from the session, the critical thinking and in depth discussion in a particular topic will need to be supported by academic information from reading more articles and spend more time on this part of the work. After this session, I became able to organise my assessments, which allow me to have enough time to working on them and preventing some of the study stresses and cramming. Also, I have been able to take a period to refresh my mind and get my memory retention. However, there is no doubt that it encouraged me to provide the work in a prime manner. This experience will be beneficial in my subsequent semesters to develop my ability to be further organised in my study and aware of how to prepare before the assessments. Conclusion
