2. 足し算 is ADDITION in English. 引き算 is SUBTRACTION in English.
ADD means 足す or 追加する in English.
SUB means 下 in English. (例えば、地下鉄 is SUBWAY)
TRACT means 引く in ギリシャ語.
So, SUBTRACT means 下の数字を引く。
