the imparting or
exchanging of
information or
news.

THE WORLD WIDE WEB (WWW)
33
is an information space where
documents and other web
resources are identified by
Uniform Resource Locators
(URLs), interlinked by hypertext
links, and can be accessed via
the Internet.
*Information & Images taken from various sites on the internet and is under OER Commons.
WEB 1.0: (EARLY 90S)
34
When the World Wide Web was
created by Tim Berners-Lee, most
web pages were static. Static
(stationary page) in the sense
that the page is “as is” and
cannot be manipulated by the
user. The content is also the
same for all users.
*Information & Images taken from various sites on the internet and is under OER Commons.
WEB 2.0: DYNAMIC WEB PAGES (1999)
35
is the evolution of Web 1.0 by
adding dynamic web pages - the
user is able to see a website
differently than others. Examples
of Web 2.0 include social
networking sites, blogs, wikis,
video sharing sites, hosted
services, and web applications.
*Information & Images taken from various sites on the internet and is under OER Commons.
WEB 2.0: DYNAMIC WEB PAGES (1999)
36
Web 2.0 also allows users to use web
browsers instead of just using their
operating system. Browsers can now be
used for their user interface, application
software (or web applications), and
even for file storage.
Web 2.0 allows users to interact with
the page: instead of just reading a page,
the user may be able to comment or
create a user account. Most of the sites
we visit today are Web 2.0.
*Information & Images taken from various sites on the internet and is under OER Commons.
WEB 1.0 && WEB 2.0
37
*Information & Images taken from various sites on the internet and is under OER Commons.
FEATURES OF WEB 2.0 :
38
1. Folksonomy - It allows users to
categorize and classify/arrange
information using freely chosen
keywords (e.g., tagging). Popular
social networking sites such as
Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc. use
tags that start with the pound sign (#).
This is also referred to as hashtag
*Information & Images taken from various sites on the internet and is under OER Commons.
FEATURES OF WEB 2.0 :
39
2. Rich User Experience. Content is
dynamic and is responsive to user’s
input. An example would be a website
that shows local content. In the case
of social networking sites, when
logged on, your account is used to
modify what you see in their website.
*Information & Images taken from various sites on the internet and is under OER Commons.
FEATURES OF WEB 2.0 :
40
3. Long Tail. Services are offered on demand
rather than on a onetime purchase. In certain
cases, time-based pricing is better than file-
size-based pricing or vice versa.
Long Tail is synonymous to subscribing to a
data plan that charges you for the amount of
time you spent in the Internet, or a data plan
that charges you for the amount of bandwidth
you used.
*Information & Images taken from various sites on the internet and is under OER Commons.
FEATURES OF WEB 2.0 :
41
4. User Participation. The owner
of the website is not the only one
who is able to put content.
Others are able to place a
content of their own by means of
comment, reviews, and
evaluation.
*Information & Images taken from various sites on the internet and is under OER Commons.
FEATURES OF WEB 2.0 :
42
5. Software as a Service. Users will
subscribe to a software only when
needed rather than purchasing
them. This is a cheaper option if
you do not always need to use a
software.
*Information & Images taken from various sites on the internet and is under OER Commons.
FEATURES OF WEB 2.0 :
43
5. Mass Participation. It is a
diverse information sharing
through universal web access.
Since most users can use the
Internet, Web 2.0’s content is
based on people from various
cultures.
*Information & Images taken from various sites on the internet and is under OER Commons.
WEB 3.0: SEMANTIC WEB
44
 The Semantic Web is a
movement led by the World
Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
 The W3C standard encourages
web developers to include
semantic content in their web
pages.
*Information & Images taken from various sites on the internet and is under OER Commons.
WEB 3.0: SEMANTIC WEB
45
 According to the W3C, “The Semantic Web
provides a common framework that allows
data to be shared and reused across
application, enterprise, and community.
 The aim of Web 3.0 is to have machines
(or servers) understand the user’s
preferences to be able to deliver web
content specifically targeting the user.
*Information & Images taken from various sites on the internet and is under OER Commons.
PROBLEMS OF WEB 3.0:
46
1. Compatibility - HTML files and current
web browsers could not support Web 3.0.
2. Security - The user’s security is
also in question since the machine is
saving his or her preferences.
*Information & Images taken from various sites on the internet and is under OER Commons.
PROBLEMS OF WEB 3.0:
47
3. Vastness - The World Wide
Web already contains billions
of web pages.
5. Logic - Since machines use
logic, there are certain
limitations for a computer to
be able to predict what the
user is referring to at a given
time.
4. Vagueness - Certain words
are imprecise. The words “old”
and “small” would depend on
the user.

Editor's Notes

  1. Right before, we were trained to do spontaneous when we were grade seven; you guys are suppose to master the spontaneous prayer. I will have to require you to download Edmodo and Slack, I expect you class to know about Edmodo because mostly our teachers here are using Edmodo also. As for the slack, I’ll explain it later, on what’s its functions and why do I use it. This is an empowerment technology class, if ever you are not familiar with a certain technology; find ways, we should adapt to certain technologies because most of you are probably gonna apply for college, and this will be really useful whether you’ll be in school or work.
  2. I’m a busy person, I expect students to submit projects and and deliverables on time. I’m also particular with correct file format, title and content. I will provide a detailed instruction on what you have to submit. I love students who listens attentively, nakaka-ganado mag teach, I also love those students who always participates and who always ask questions relevant to the topic or lesson.
  3. Before going out, you must give me a signal of calling, in that way I can know you have an emergency, it is also a form of respect kasi nakakawalang respeto if aalis ka lang ng walang paalam diba? For comfort room reasons, I hardly let my students go out for cr; you just have to prove to me na you really have to go to the comfort room. You have breaks before homeroom period, so you must go to the comfort room first and do your business before going to class. You are more likely prone to miss most of my discussions when you will go out.
  4. As I have said call my attention, when emergency, and dapat when absolutely necessary. That explains it, if I would notice that you are constantly doing unnecessary things, by atmost 3 times, I won’t hesitate to give SDR. I’m not really a strict person, I am in fact friendly most of the time, only if you are worth it. You don’t want me to be angry, I am juggling between being a student and a teacher at the same time, so it would really be bad if you’ll stress me out. But never the less, I hope we all get along and have a meaningful quarter in this semester, and as much as I don’t want to fail my students, I don’t want to fail as teacher; so please kindly do your job, and study well.
  5. Konti lang yung classroom rules ko kasi alam ko na may school policies and guidelines na kayo on your student handbook from your senior high prefect. I’m friends with sir Juniel and Sir Duds, in fact; I was a student of Sir Duds before.
  6. This is your standard grading system from most of your teachers. This might not be final, because I would still have to consult Ma’am Leila if it this would be final or not.
  7. These are our course outline.
  8. Call center is an good paying job, above all it is a marangal na trabaho.
  9. These kind of websites are mostly just simple websites, walang masyadong additional features. Parang shang stationary page or news paper, what you see is what you get.
  10. These kind of websites have additional features, what you might see on your page might not be the same for other page. Content are not the same to users
  11. This is a web 2.0 with a touch of artificial intelligence. Most of the web 2.0 are adapting web 3.0 right now. AI examples would be your iphone siri, android google assistant alexa, for windows, we have cortana. On facebook they have various systems that analyzes your user experience. One example would be text analyzer. (Explain scenario)
  12. We have youtube, videos suggestions from your previous video you’ve watch or history of you have watch. Another example also would be when your shopping online, most of shopping sites are taking note on what you are finding, so that they’ll display it as a suggestion on specific part of website or on most likely on their home page.
  13. There are compatibility issues on web 3.0, most of web 3.0 sites are on advance programming language so old programming or machine languages cannot support.
  14. A psychology study tells us that when we have a lot of choices, we are more likely to be indecisive and this is choice paralysis. Vaugness, certain words are evolving; some users might not know what’s the meaning behind that old word. Logic, most web 3.0 are running on logical approach, so we might have problems if we doing follow certain instructions.
  15. Technological convergence, the tendency for different technological systems to evolve toward performing similar tasks. One example would be aside from carrying separate devices like camera, radio, remote; you could now mostly do it on your smart phones. It is good to invest in this kind of things guys, we should adapt to certain technology so that we won’t left behind.
  16. Facebook, Xing, LinkedIn, Badoo & Bedo. Pinteress. Digg
  17. YouTube, Instagram, Vine & Flickr. Plurk & Twitter. Tumblr, Disqus & Viki.
