Solution Neuron or nerve cell is the struxtural and functional.unit of nervous system. Neuron is the longest cell in the body measuring upto 1 metre in length. It is formed of three main parts. 1. Cell body or cyton: It is rounded , oval or star shaped about 4 to 13 microns in diameter. Its cytoplasm.is falled neuroplasm which contains large spherical nucleus with single nucleolus, mitochondria, Golgi bodies and fine threads called neurofibrils about 10nm 8n diameter and fine fine basophollic granules called Nissl granules. Nissl granules take part 9n transmission of nerve impulse 2.Dendrons: These are short and highly branched processes of cyton. Dendrons take nerve impulse to the cell b9dy. 3. Axon: It is the single long fibre of uniform diameter. Area of origin of axon from cell body is called axon hillock. Plasma memebrane of axon is called axolemma and its cytoplasm as axoplasm. Axon conducts impulse away from the cell body..

axon extends.
The axon is a single elongated tubal structure that extends from the Axon Hillock.
Each neuron has a single axon that extends and branches at its end.
The inner most Plasma membrane around the axon is Axolemma.
Neurilemma is the plasma membrane of schwann cells .
The spaces/gaps between the Schwann cells are known as the nodes of Ranvier and they serve to propagate electrical signals along the axon.
The branched end of the axon is known as the axon terminal[arborization] and
branches at the middle of the axon is axon collaterals .
This is the distal part of the axon that comes in contact with other cells. Also called as terminal boutons.
This part of the axon is largely involved in the release of the neurotransmitter.The cell body, also called the soma, is the spherical part of the neuron that contains the nucleus ,cytoplasm and organelles.
The cell body connects to the dendrites, and send information to the
axon depending on the strength of the signal.

Solution Neuron or nerve cell is the struxtural and functional.unit of nervous system. Neuron is the longest cell in the body measuring upto 1 metre in length. It is formed of three main parts. 1. Cell body or cyton: It is rounded , oval or star shaped about 4 to 13 microns in diameter. Its cytoplasm.is falled neuroplasm which contains large spherical nucleus with single nucleolus, mitochondria, Golgi bodies and fine threads called neurofibrils about 10nm 8n diameter and fine fine basophollic granules called Nissl granules. Nissl granules take part 9n transmission of nerve impulse 2.Dendrons: These are short and highly branched processes of cyton. Dendrons take nerve impulse to the cell b9dy. 3. Axon: It is the single long fibre of uniform diameter. Area of origin of axon from cell body is called axon hillock. Plasma memebrane of axon is called axolemma and its cytoplasm as axoplasm. Axon conducts impulse away from the cell body.
