1. 1% Hyaluronic Acid
Skin is the largest organ of our body, comprise of

2. Ageing leads to changes in skin properties including morphology,
physiology and mechanical properties. As a person ages all three
of these layers go through considerable transformations but the
most significant occur in the top two layers. The epidermal cells
become thinner causing noticeable differences in transparency
and moisture. Another essential portion of the skin is the
extracellular matrix. This is primarily composed of proteoglycans
called glycosaminoglycan. One of the most abundant
glycosaminoglycans in the skin is hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid
is distributed widely throughout connective, epithelial and neural
tissues. It is one of the chief components of the extracellular
matrix contributing significantly to cell proliferation and
migration. Commonly used in cosmetic formulations, hyaluronic
acid readily binds moisture in the skin boosting moisturization
and plumping the surrounding tissues. Injections of hyaluronic
acid are commonly used today by plastic surgeons to temporarily
fill and smooth wrinkles by adding volume under the skin.

3. Hyaluronic acid is utilized extensively in various areas like
cosmetic, dietary supplement, parenteral nutririon, and
intraocular injection. HA is processed differently for the use in
these area of function based on specification and purity of the
product.
Among the different type of Hyaluronic acid, 1% Hyaluronic acid is
used extensively in cosmetics. The Hyaluronic Acid 1% (Sodium
Hyaluronate) is a natural product based on fermentation of
Streptococcus sp with enrich media. During the process of
fermentation specific media optimization and processing is carried
out to get higher molecular Hyaluronic acid. Following harvest and
purification, best of suitable specification is developed after
critical analytical evaluation, microbiological testing and
biochemical analysis into powder form.

4. Once powder form of HA is obtained, it is dissolved in water
as 1 part of Sodium hyaluronate in 99 part of water with
adequate preservative like Gluconolactone and Sodium
Benzoate, ascorbic acid etc, Being the best moisturizer till
date, 1% Hyaluronic acid is highly effective, even at 0.1-1%.
Hyaluronic Acid 1% is a viscous gel solution that spreads
across the skin smoothly and without drag. It forms a
breathable invisible viscous elastic surface skin layer retaining
moisture and at the same time not allowing water loss from
the skin. These characteristic helps to make the skin smooth,
elastic, toned and younger. Being prominently present in the
extracellular it supports the skins natural protective
mechanism.
