The first strength of this program would be that it teaches self-awareness before relationship skills, because knowing how to manage and process self-emotions is extremely important when working in a team. Additionally, a strength would be that it is an activity-based program, which will keep kids entertained and learning at the same time. After reviewing the data from the 2009-2010 school year I would ask the board to be mindful that change is not something that happens over night. I would remind the board that it has only been one full school year cycle since we have received the funding for more academically enhanced programs and the change they are want to see takes time. I would let them know they have to keep in mind there are students who have learning disabilities, autism and other learning differences that must be addressed as well.
