Nivea is one of the world's most trusted skincare brands, launched in Germany in 1911 by Dr. Oscar Troplowitz. He recognized the potential of an emulsifier that could bind water and oil into a stable cream. Inspired by its white color, he named the new cream "Nivea". In 1911 Nivea was launched with a goal of developing high quality, affordable skincare. Today Nivea employs over 850 scientists and has a leading skin research center in Hamburg. The iconic blue tin design of Nivea creme has remained largely unchanged since 1925.
