Basic Principles of Radiation Thermometry and Thermometer CalibrationsNIMT
This document provides an overview of radiation thermometry and calibration of radiation thermometers. It begins with definitions of blackbody radiation and emissivity. It then describes the components and design considerations of spectral radiation thermometers. The document discusses factors to consider for non-contact temperature measurements such as suitable target-sensor distance. It also covers detector types, advantages of radiation thermometers, and common calibration methods including fixed point calibration and spectral responsivity measurement. Finally, it identifies uncertainty sources that can affect the accuracy of radiation thermometer calibrations.
What happens when your applications goes to Live? Where is the root cause of the problem? Is it the problem with my codes or the infrastructure that is hosting it? In this session, we will learn how System Center Operations Manager 2007 and System Center AVICode will be able to work together to provide end-to-end monitoring of your critical Business Application. Whilst it might not solve all mankind problems; but it surely will be able to resolve the never ending dispute between developers and system administrators on what went wrong when a problem occurs on the application.

IntelliTrace collects debugging information like method calls and breakpoints during program execution to help developers reproduce bugs found by testers. Testers can attach IntelliTrace log files to bugs they file. Developers can then open these logs in Visual Studio to debug the issue using the captured state information. Team builds should keep symbol files, which map code to line numbers and variables, on a symbol server so developers have this information to effectively debug issues found in builds.
Test-driven Development Practices in White Box Test Automationervinloh
Test-driven development is a software development process that relies on the repetition of a very short development cycle. This process is heavily emphasized by those using Agile development methodologies. White-box testing (also known as clear box testing, glass box testing, transparent box testing, and structural testing) is a method of software testing that tests internal structures of an application, as opposed to its functionality. In this session, we will learn how to use white box test automation in the form of test-driven development at the unit, integration and system levels of the software testing process.

By integrating performance validations early into your applications, you can ensure that your solution copes with real-world demands and behaves in a predictable manner, effectively increasing overall software quality. In this session, we will learn the importance of performance and stress testing, as well as the capabilities of Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate to improve profiling and testing throughout the application lifecycle.
A Fully Automatic Multimeter Calibration SystemNIMT
The document describes a fully automatic multimeter calibration system using a programmable switch. Key points:
1) A programmable switch was designed to automatically reconfigure cables for calibration without manual intervention.
2) The switch was inserted into an automatic calibration system to calibrate a multimeter.
3) Results showed the automatic system calibrated the multimeter as accurately as the manual system, reducing calibration time from 35 to 25 minutes.

The document discusses the importance of illuminance meters having an accurate spectral response that matches the CIE luminous efficiency function V(λ). The author participated in a training program in Thailand on photometry standards. He conducted an experiment at NPLI where standard detectors and detectors from commercial luxmeters were tested behind blue and red filters. Ratios of the detector responses (R/B ratio) with the filters were calculated and compared. Standard detectors produced R/B ratios from 0.25 to 0.35, matching CIE values based on their spectral match. Commercial luxmeter detectors showed scattered R/B ratios, indicating they were not corrected for V(λ). The author concludes all luxmeters should have a V(λ)
1. Torque is a measure of rotational force and is important in many engineering applications. Regular calibration of torque tools is necessary to ensure accuracy and traceability to standards.
2. Hand torque tools are commonly used in research, inspections, and production. The document outlines standards for calibrating and classifying hand torque tools.
3. Torque wrench calibration devices must also be calibrated regularly according to standards. Participants calibrated a torque transducer using a torque wrench as the standard and prepared calibration procedures.
Summary Report of the TCTP on Strengthening of Measurement Standards Institut...NIMT
The Third Country Training Programme on Strengthening of Measurement Standards Institutes of Asia Pacific Countries was held from January 16 to February 24, 2012 in Thailand. Twenty counterparts from 11 countries received training in 5 measurement standards including angle, photometry, radiation thermometry, RF, and torque standards. In addition to technical training, the counterparts participated in training on teamwork and cultural activities like a visit to Chang Island and a night show. All counterparts cooperated well during the intensive schedule and produced calibration certificates and procedures, demonstrating their commitment to applying the skills learned back in their home countries.
CCQM-K81 : Measurement of Chloramphenicol in Pig MuscleNIMT
This document summarizes a key comparison study for the determination of chloramphenicol in pig muscle conducted by the National Institute of Metrology, Thailand (NIMT). The study involved analysis of lyophilized pig muscle samples containing chloramphenicol at around the EU's maximum residue level of 0.3 μg/kg. NIMT used isotope dilution mass spectrometry with an in-house assessed chloramphenicol standard for quantification, and sample preparation involved extraction, solid phase extraction cleanup, and analysis by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. NIMT's results were included in the calculation of the key comparison reference value.
