Krishna explains that there are three types of natures that bind all living beings - goodness, passion, and ignorance. People who associate with goodness are peaceful, kind, and self-satisfied, while those who associate with passion are selfish and disturbed. People in ignorance are lazy, proud, and think wrong is right. Our activities and perceptions are governed by the nature we associate with. We must save ourselves from passion and ignorance by coming to goodness, and ultimately serving Krishna to become completely pure and transcend the three natures.
