The passage describes Jesus being led before the high priest and the council seeking testimony against him to put him to death. However, the testimony against Jesus did not agree. When questioned by the high priest, Jesus affirms that he is the Son of God. In response, the high priest tears his clothes and declares Jesus deserves death. The guards then beat and spit upon Jesus.

God sees all things perfectly with his divine vision. Isaiah had a vision of God on his throne surrounded by angels calling him holy. This vision led Isaiah to feel condemned but also to volunteer to serve God. Jesus referred to this story as a way to explain that some will see but not perceive the kingdom of God. Other passages discuss looking to God for protection, looking to Jesus to lift us up, looking within to check our spiritual well-being, and looking to serve others rather than just ourselves. Maintaining a godly vision of the future is important for persevering, as is keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus.
Leading With Brokenness and Humility by Lee McFarland
Nehemiah gets a vision from God for doing something great!
He gets the people together – he gets the material together – he draws up plans - and he is flat out going to rebuild this wall around his hometown of Jerusalem!
Nehemiah launches into an amazing effort to re-build the wall around Jerusalem – something nobody had been able to do for 80 years! He was literally going to "Fix a Broken Dream".
The punch line of the whole story is found in Nehemiah 6:15.
“So the wall was completed… in fifty-two days.” Neh. 6:15
This was incredible! Something people had failed at for 80 years! In spite of all the odds, Nehemiah was able to finish rebuilding a wall in less than two months! It was an incredible accomplishment!
Why? Why was Nehemiah so successful?
It all comes down to this – Nehemiah DIDN’T QUIT! He refused to stop! He refused to give up! But I want you to know something.
He had EVERY REASON to quit! There were so many things that came at him – it would have been easy to give up! But he didn’t! He kept going, and he completed his project in record time!
A super-achiever is somebody who is DETERMINED.
I don’t know what you might be thinking – and I don’t know what might be getting you down. But I don’t believe you’re looking at this presentation by accident!
I believe God brought you here, to my "Slide Share" account, to read this posting, to tell you this:
DON’T GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS!
Don’t give up on the vision you have for your life, or for your job, or for your business, or for your ministry, or for your future!
Please promise me you won’t give up on your dreams!
There is one more thing to remember about your vision… you have to keep at it! If you get discouraged – if you get complacent – if you give up too early – you won’t get it done!
So – you have to keep your dreams alive – you have to keep your vision focused – and you have to keep at it! And that’s what we’re going to talk about in this presentation.
Nehemiah was a great example for all of these.
And we can see the same great leadership traits in Jesus.
Both Nehemiah and Jesus were "SERVANT LEADERS".
Being a servant leader means that you are willing to lead with both...

- 1. God’s Message for Today THE GOSPEL OF MARK Mark 14:53-65
- 2. Mark 14:53-65 53 And they led Jesus to the high priest. And all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes came together. 54 And Peter had followed him at a distance, right into the courtyard of the high priest. And he was sitting with the guards and warming himself at the fire. 55 Now the chief priests and the whole council were seeking testimony against Jesus to put him to death, but they found none.

Mark 14:53-65 56 For many bore false witness against him, but their testimony did not agree. 57 And some stood up and bore false witness against him, saying, 58 “We heard him say, ‘I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and in three days I will build another, not made with hands.’” 59 Yet even about this their testimony did not agree.
- 4. Mark 14:53-65 60 And the high priest stood up in the midst and asked Jesus, “Have you no answer to make? What is it that these men testify against you?” 61 But he remained silent and made no answer. Again the high priest asked him, “Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?” 62 And Jesus said, “I am, and you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.”

What is your decision?” And they all condemned him as deserving death. 65 And some began to spit on him and to cover his face and to strike him, saying to him, “Prophesy!” And the guards received him with blows.
