2. About myself
I consider myself a Web and New
Media Designer/ Developer. I have
made this distinction as the idea of
multimedia expands and has become
available through the internet on
countless devices other than just a
computer.
3. Traditional Art
How I became a New Media
designer stems from my
traditional art background and
wanting to build a solid
foundation in art ability and
translate it to my love of the
computer and the web. Once I
finished my first year of my
foundation arts program at The
University of Massachusetts at
Dartmouth I decided on the
Digital Media and Graphic
Design majors as the focus of
my undergraduate studies.
4. Digital Art
Realizing how I could apply my
traditional art skills to the
computer
left me feeling like the
possibility to evolve both my
work and my ability were
endless.
6. Graphic Design
Newburyport Literary Festival
Many of my teachers were
trained in
the "Swiss" style of design.
Clean, balanced and focused
on legibility. I find it important
to work with strong
typographical hierarchy.
7. Graphic Design
TAC Posters
This is a 6 foot tall "quick
screen" banner, one of many I
have made
for various trade shows and our
corporate offices.
8. Graphic Design

I have had the opportunity with
the company I work for, to go
through a brand migration. I
have experienced the exchange
of one set of design standards
for another and work with the
same message in the new
format.
9. Graphic Design
Schneider Electric COP15, energy bar label
After working with the same guidelines for 3 years and suddenly
switching to a new set I find myself looking for ways to push the
limits of the brand identity in ways that communicate appropriate to
the piece.

13. Interactive Design
Kronos, FMLA Trivia
A presentation in Flash that has the same navigation abilities as a
powerpoint (keyboard and mouse advancement).
14. Interactive Design
Taekwondo: History and Application
An interactive project from my junior level Media Design class
focusing on Educational Interactive Flash. I used 3D animations
exported into vector format that the user could control to learn
15. Where I am going
I am a Masters of Fine Arts
Candidate at the Academy of
Art University (expected Spring
2011), with a concentration in
Web Design and New Media. I
am currently working on my
thesis project, Transparent
Garden, a site designed to
teach users about sustainable
agriculture. I hope to push the
limits of New Media,
integrating 3D Navigation
components, Flash Interactivity,
web technology integration
such as XML and database
languages, and mobile
application components.
