2. Angel García de Vinuesa, Senior Partner at
IDM Networks, a design and management
firm based in Colombia, graduated in 1978
in architecture and city planning at the
University of Navarra, Spain. He then
finished a Masters Degree in Urban Design
at the Mackintosh School of Architecture, in
Glasgow, UK, and a Masters Degree in
Business and Administration at the University
of Madrid. Since 1987 he has held leading
positions in national and multinational
development companies and has a wide
experience in project management, design
and construction management of major
mixed-use , residential, commercial and
leisure projects.
From his former position, as Development
Manager in Sierra Central, Colombia, and
previously as a Design Manager in Sonae
Sierra, Angel has benefited from a dynamic
inter national exposure, namely in
Colombia, Portugal, Spain, UK, France, USA
and Italy. Former positions include Head of
Design within Riofisa, a spanish leading real
estate company, Head of Development of
the British management company PMS-
Laing and head of the urban design
department at the World International
Exhibition , EXPO 92. in Seville.

4. IDM Networks is an inter national
Architecture and Design Firm with broad
experience in the development of a great
variety of projects, practically covering all
real estate sectors: residential, commercial,
industrial, hotels, offices and hospitals as
well as sports structures, and those
corresponding to the service sector,
transportation and infrastructure. Its
experience in Colombia starts in the year
2010, offering integral design and
management services for the international
firm SONAE SIERRA. Nowadays it operates
independently with offices in Madrid and
Bogotá.
The main office in Madrid operates with the
firm Proyectos D+G, S.A. Since it's founding
in 1993, D+G has participated in the design
and development of more than 35
shopping and entertainment centers.
Many of these projects have received
design awards in congresses and
international venues such as ICSC, MIPIM
and MAPIC.

5. Development Manager in SIERRA CENTRAL,
a sister company of the International
Development firm SONAE SIERRA.one of the
largest developers and operators of
Shopping and Entertainment Centers in
Europe. It is a group with a strong
expansion program already in eight
countries (Brazil, Colombia, Portugal, Spain,
Italy, Greece, Romania and Germany)
Since June 2010 I set my residence in
Colombia as Expansion and Development
Director for the Company Sierra Central, a
joint venture between Sonae Sierra and the
Colombian company Central Control. In
the early months of the company´s
activities I travelled intensively across the
country in order to identify land
opportunities for the development of
shopping centers.
Significant projects were the expansion of
“Jardín Plaza”in Cali (Mixed Use 150.000 m2
GLA) and two shopping malls in Ibagué
and Cucuta (GLA 65.000 m2 each) .

6. ZEX 2008 was a Design and Construction
Group of Companies that was created in
partnership with JG Ingenieros, to offer
design and management services, as well
as buiding permits negotiation to
international participants in EXPO 2008
E X P O 2 0 0 8 w a s a n i n t e r n a t i o n a l
exposition held in Zaragoza, Spain, in
ameander of the river Ebro, with the theme
of "Water and Sustainable Development".
ZEX 2008 built successfully 8 pavilions and
was responsible for the desmantling and
recycling of two large contracts in joint
venture with the spanish contractor
DETECSA.
My responsibilty within this position involved
coordination with our partner local
companies and intensive design and
management activities both with the
participants as well as with EXPO authorities
to get all works done in time.

7. Design Manager of the International
Development firm SONAE SIERRA.one of the
largest developers and operators of
Shopping and Entertainment Centers in
Europe. It is a group with a strong
expansion program already in eight
countries (Brazil, Colombia, Portugal, Spain,
Italy, Greece, Romania and Germany)
The position involved the design
management of major projects in Spain,
France and Italy, representing more than
450,000 m2 of gross leasable area and a
volume of construction work of around 350
million Euros.
My responsibilities in this position included
all activities related to the design
management process, from the initial
phases of site procurement, throughout the
construction process until opening as well
as operation.

8. Head of Architecture and Design of the
RIOFISA Group. During those years RIOFISA
was one of the most active and versatile
groups within the Spanish real estate sector.
Responsible for the concept design
department, where we had design and
management responsibilities over a large
variety of projects, including residential
buildings, industrial parks, office buildings
and shopping malls. The total volume of
work managed during those years exceeds
600,000 m2 built and a volume of work
worth close to 800 million Euros.
Along this period, the Riofisa Group was
awarded several international design
awards at MIPIM and MAPIC, and gained
international recognition by hiring the most
prestigious teams in the field such as RTKL,
KMD, L-35, Cuningham, ID-8, Chapman
Taylor, HOK, Aukett, Derek Lovejoy and
Theo Kondos.

As Senior Design Manager of the Urban
design department I was responsible for the
design and project management of all
projects within the open areas, including
Landscape, water features, pavements,
lighting, public furnitures, toilettes,
restaurants and shadow structures.
Specially relevant was the creation of a
specific unit within ouR department to
research on different bioclimatic solutions
for the open areas to cope with the high
temperatures that were reached in the
EXPO site during the summer.
Main responsibilities for this work included
team coordination (10 architects) design
management of all projects, in house
concept design, procurement, tender
analysis and site supervision.

14. International Award
In April 1996 former USA president George Bush
awarded Angel Garcia de Vinuesa the
Eisenhower Fellowship "Leadership Award" after
completion of the EF MNP Multinational
Program. This program is conducted through a
research scholarship granted yearly by the
Eisenhower Fellowship Organization, and is
awarded to a reduced number of professionals
who are chosen out of 100 competing
countries.
The Eisenhower Fellowship Program consists of
a personal invitation to the USA to establish
inter-professional relationships with the most
renowned american specialists in the fellow´s
chosen research field. For Garcia de Vinuesa,
the theme of the "Multi National Program" -
MNP was based on the "Analysis of strategies for
Public-Private Partnerships in large real estate
projects," with special emphasis on Shopping
Centers and Retail Parks, "Senior Citizens" living
complexes and "Mixed-Use" Projects for Urban
Revitalization.
The program included the analysis of 18 large
real estate projects (in cities such as Baltimore,
Philadelphia, New York, Cleveland, Chicago,
Phoenix, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco and
San Diego among others) and work meetings
with chief executives responsible for the
projects ´ development: politicians, main
contractors, architects, urban planners and
developers.
