Pro Abortion Cons
Introduction
Abortion is a polarizing topic that everyone will have their own opinion on. Abortions have an
increasing number of cases all over the world. All of these cases have factors such as social economic
issues. As the Merriam Webster dictionary mentions, the termination of a pregnancy after,
accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus: such as a
spontaneous expulsion of a human fetus during the first 12 weeks of gestation. Since abortions is
much of a controversial topic, there are many sides to it. The two main sides/groups are pro life and
pro choice. According to the article Pro Life vs. Pro Choice, a person who is pro life believes that the
government has an obligation to preserve ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When rape happens, one didn t intend on having/keeping the kid. So, therefore, abortion must happen.
According to a national sample of women it states that there was an estimated of 32,101 pregnancies
result from rape each year. 50% of those women underwent abortions. According to the fact sheet that
Guttmacher Institute has provided online, it states that in the years of 2010 2014 the abortion number
were statistically significant. In most developing countries, there have been 49.3 million abortions.
Advantages Of Abortions
Aborting an unexpected child gives young women a chance to finish/pursue their education.
According to article/blog The Drop Out Crisis and Teen Pregnancy written by Olivia Marshall states
that back in 2011 1.3 million high school students who dropped out; 30 percent of girls cite pregnancy
or parenthood as a key reason of why they left school. Cause a young woman may not have the
resources to still be in school be able to take care of the child. Abortion has also been a help to women
with health problems. Women who have diseases such as heart disease, hypertension, and anemia have
been able to avoid serious medical complications with abortions. There are many other advantages.
Parents used this method to control the family size. Such as being in a family of 6, you feel like
having another one is too high so you abort it. Rape victims also use abortions as an advantage. Rape
victims wouldn t want to keep the unborn child because

Freedom Is The Story Of Universal Freedom Based On Two Men...
Freedom is the story of universal freedom based on two men living a century apart. Samuel
Woodward (Cuba Gooding, Jr.) is a slave in 1856 who is desperate to be free. He escapes with his
family from the largest slave plantation in Virginia assisted by the Underground Railroad. The
plantation owner Jefferson Monroe (David Rasche) wants them back alive. He talks the infamous
slave hunter Plimpton (William Sadler) out of retirement and he stresses that no slave has ever
escaped from his plantation. Coincidently, Samuels s wife Vanessa (Sharon Leal) just happens to be
Monroe s bastard daughter and he will spare no expense for her return. Plimpton and his two man
posse are in hot pursuit and always seem to be one step behind the escaping slaves on their quest to
Canada and freedom. As their capture appears eminent, Samuel starts losing his faith and ability to
sing. Desperately wanting to help her son, his mother Adira (Phyllis Bash) starts narrating the tale of
John Newton (Bernhard Forcher), the captain of the slave ship Pegasus and Samuel s great
grandfather, a slave bound for America in 1748. During their journey, Newton is battling his moral
conscience and faith inspiring him to compose one of the most notable Christian hymns Amazing
Grace. Freedom turned out to be a musical based on hope and faith inspired by the song Amazing
Grace with the underlying story of freedom rather than a drama about slavery and the Underground
Railroad. There is more music and narrative

Essay about Career in Ultrasound
Being able to identify lumps, swelling, tissue damage, cysts, and the overwhelming news of the sex of
a baby all have something in common, an ultrasound. Swelling of the spleen, kidney stones, blood
clots, aneurysms, cancer and so much more can be identified through the works of an ultrasound s
imaging technique. Ultrasound involves many concepts, procedures, and careers. The amount of
medical possibilities involved with ultrasounds is useful in major medical diagnostics. The field of
ultrasounds and career opportunities are widely growing. As medical careers flourish, needs for
technicians in many fields of medicine are increasing. Instead of a doctor choosing complex and risky

A shadow picture is constructed from different echoes being reflected from a variety of tissues
(Radiological Society of North America). Ultrasounds can come in many forms. Traditional images
are displayed in thin, flat sections of the body. However, advancement in technology now includes 3 D
and 4 D ultrasounds as well as many other specific types (Radiological Society of North America). To
begin, 3 D ultrasound configures the sound wave data into 3 D images and 4 D ultrasound is
considered a version of 3 D ultrasound that shows motion (Radiological Society of North America).
Another type of examination is a Doppler ultrasound may be part of an examination. Doppler
ultrasounds use a special technique that assesses blood flow through blood vessels, including the body

three more types: Color, Power, and Spectral (Radiological Society of North America).
Ultrasounds continue into Obstetric and Transvaginal. Obstetric is the use of ultrasound scans in
pregnancy (Woo, Dr. Joseph S.K). Transvaginal are used to capture more precise images in patients
who are obese and/ or in the early stages of pregnancy and is conduction through the vaginal cavity

Each type of ultrasound has to be performed by an assistant or in other words a technician. Ultrasound

Comparing The Book Frankenstein By Mary Shelly
For my dissertation I will be comparing the books Frankenstein by Mary Shelly, The Strange Case of
Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, and finally 1984 by George Orwell. All three books I believe share a common
theme which will be the subject of my dissertation. They all hold many themes but the main ones I
will be looking at are the perils of playing god, abuse of power, and lastly manipulation and control.
One of the main themes of Frankenstein written by Mary Shelly in 1816 is the fall of man which can
be found in all three of the books in my dissertation, how man tries to progress in science or society
but ends up making the situation worse. This can be found in many books and in real life situations
which leads me to think trying to improve yet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While undoubtedly the biggest theme running through Frankenstein is the perils of playing god and
how that can backfire, another large theme is parental neglect and irresponsibility which can also be
found in again Jekyll and Hyde and 1984. Sadly parental neglect can be found throughout human
history which again makes me think it could be a metaphor for something bigger. It could be how
people always have a secret dark side; maybe it s that side of us which can be to blame for all the
wrong things in society? Or maybe that s just another excuse to be the bad guy.
Victor Frankenstein s quote can also be compared with a quote from Robert Louis Stevenson s Dr
Jekyll and Mr Hyde narrated by Dr. Jekyll himself. In this next quote it shows again the total lack of
responsibility that we first saw in Frankenstein.
I hesitated long before I put this theory to the test of practice. I knew well that I risked death; for any
drug that so potently controlled and shook the very fortress of identity, might, by the least scruple of
an overdose or at the least inopportunity in the moment of exhibition, utterly blot out that immaterial
tabernacle which I looked to it to change. But the temptation of a discovery so singular and profound
at last overcame the suggestions of alarm. (Chp.10 Pg.54)
As previously shown, Dr. Jekyll completely ignores his own knowledge in that if that potion had gone
wrong (an instant death rather than split personality disorder) he would ve died. He

Essay about Gang Violence in Philadelphia
The streets of Philadelphia are rapidly becoming a home to violent acts and random homicides.
Innocent lives are taken every day due to the strong presence of gangs, and the streets are run by
unruly groups of fearless young adults. Gang violence in Philadelphia is a major issue, and the citizens
will never be safe until gang prevention occurs. Gang prevention is not a simple task, but with the
right resources available, it is possible. Gang violence is a problem that will contribute to the collapse
of Philadelphia, and it has yet to be solved throughout many generations. With gang violence on the
rise, the best solution to gang violence is to educate the youth and parents about gangs and use family
support to prevent the creation of gang ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After realizing this method was not exactly efficient in preventing gang violence, programs were
started to steer gangs in the right direction. Although these programs are new and are not fully
functioning yet, they have shown significant improvements in prevention and continue to research the
topic to this day. The solution to gang violence has not been discovered yet, but there are many
theories regarding the issue. Possible Solutions Throughout the years, many plausible solutions to
gang violence have been presented. A commonly thought of solution to gang violence is to punish and
arrest gang members. People want anyone who is in contact with gangs locked up, but that will only
make gangs rebel more. By doing so, the streets would be rid of gangs, but jails would be
overpopulated with them. It may seem like having gangs in jail would solve the problem, but gang
leaders being in jail does not stop a gang from continuing what they re doing. Arresting gang members
teaches nothing except for children to hate the authorities. From 1985 to 1994, the number of
American youths arrested for murder increased 158%, to more than 2,200 (Teen Gangs and Crime,
1996). If a child resents the authorities, they would be more likely to join a gang that goes against
authorities. Officials are aware that they cannot arrest their way out of gang violence, and they have to
take positive measures (Parks Recreation, 2009). The most important thing to remember is To treat

The Short Story Of Bravery In Unbroken
This summer I was at the Ottawa County fair doing the off road Derby. I wasn t sure about doing it at

what color it was too. In the end my mom and dad were right, it was fun and I got 3rd place for my

people they could be good risks and bad risks. The character s Louie from the book Unbroken and the

airman in the 1940 s is very dangerous.Because planes are good, but not very reliable. So Louie had to

The Importance Of The Tower Of Babel
The most segregated place is Sunday service, what does that say about the God you worship? Lecrae;
Dirty Water
Too many one might think that the Tower of Babel is about God punishing people, and in a way it
was. The confusion that God placed on the people was something made to humble the people trying to
be at the same height of God. But the realities are that we have made strides in the list of human
achievements that have surpassed the height of the tower of Babel, and through that singular event,
culture had erupted onto the earth.
The shift of being like God has changed from a physical one to a psychological one. Our idea of our
ability to be god like has inflated people in our lives. From the people, we expect evil from like Hitler
and Stalin, and from people who might not be as obvious as religious leaders and people in mentoring
positions in our lives.
We don t worship for God, but for ourselves was a quote from Joel Osteen s Wife, her message is a
simple one worship God for the feelings that derive from it, not to elicit humbling praise for the grace
that God has hand delivered us.
The dislocation in the church has been something of an issue since the beginning of the church in
Acts. Steven was killed giving a list of issues that he found in the church (Acts 7), and Martin Luther,
and many other have died at the hands of the church. Yet, my statement remains; Our battle has
changed from a physical one to a psychological one.

The Differences Of The Odyssey By Homer s The Odyssey
Odyssey Essay!
The amazing epic poem by Homer entitled The Odyssey shares many similarities and many
differences as well with the Hallmark movie of the same name. The epic poem is about the hero
Odysseus who has spent twenty long years filled with toil and loss, through war and sea desperate to
return to his home of Ithaca. Odysseus has angered some of the gods and goddesses of a Greek
Mythology with his destruction of the mighty city of Troy. Odysseus is represented in the poem and
the movie, but there are several differences between the two in the events he encountered. There are
also numerous similarities
For starters, the setting of the movie and the poem are both centralized around Ithaca and scattered
Islands of Greece. The Greek mythology was also a main theme in the two, such as Odysseus s
protection by The goddess Athena and the hatred be Odysseus and Poseidon. One of the more difficult
aspect that the movie had gotten spot on was the displaying of Odysseus s leadership throughout the
God s (mainly Poseidon s) wrath and the ever enduring seas of Greece. However throughout all of the
hardships his crewmen remained loyal to him and his faith that they would one day return to the
shores of Odysseus s mighty Kingdom of Ithaca.
Another main similarity between the poem and the movie but put into more depth in the movie is how
the people of Ithaca where dealing with Odysseus s absence. Penelope stayed faithful to Odysseus
while also keeping the promise of marrying

Comparing Blood Wedding And Yerma
The greatest Spanish dramatist and poet, Frederico Lorca, wrote two books with very different plots,
yet the literary elements included were very similar The Blood Wedding and Yerma portray the
political and sociological views that are customary to Spain, such as male dominance, as well as
family honor. In addition, both The Blood Wedding and Yerma, contain the theme of human will
fighting against human destiny, encompassing a broad depiction of Spanish ideology. The Blood
Wedding and Yerma consistently exemplify the dominance of men in correspondence to the inferiority
of women. During this time in Spain, that mentality was the norm, and widely accepted. Lorca
portrays this mindset vividly in both of these novels, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I know she s a good girl. Isn t she? Quiet. Hard working. She bakes her bread and sews her skirts...
(Lorca 5) The Bridegroom s mother represents Spain s society as a whole, in regard to the woman s
role to be Quiet, hard working, to bake and to sew. She doesn t inquire if she s pretty, or intelligent,
etc, she only wants to know what she s going to do for her son. Lorca gives the reader the opportunity
to sympathize with the Bride, and her lack of true identity, due to a distorted society. Yerma, though a
completely different story line, portrays an even greater sense of male dominance, and female
minority. Lorca ambiguously creates an ongoing dialogue between a married couple, Juan and Yerma,
allowing us to see the extent of male dominance in this culture. Juan, is a very prideful, controlling
husband is scolding his wife Yerma. JUAN. Don t you know the kind of man I am? The sheep in the
fold, and the women in their houses. You go out too much. Haven t you heard me say that from the
beginning? (Lorca, 92). Throughout the story, Juan is reprimanding his wife over different things,
primarily over her desire for a child, that isn t remotely mutual, but this time Lorca uses Juan to define
the control that men have over the women. He makes a very strong point regarding how demanding
Juan is, having a huge impact on this generation, because this level of control over women is
something we can barely relate to. Lorca then uses Yerma, to expound on the male

cons of using an automatic or a manual transmission. Being a learner of mechanical engineering, this
study will help me for my future endeavours. What is a Manual Transmission? A car in which there is
a manual clutch pedal used while changing gears that allow the driver to change the gears as per
driving needs is known as Manual transmission car. The clutch uses solid clutch plate and pressure

Manual modes also avoid the power requirement of the hydraulic control system, by relying on the
human muscle power of the vehicle operator to disengage the clutch and actuate the gear levers. Thus
the manual transmission requires very little engine power to function, with the main power
consumption due to drag from the gear train being in the lubricating oil of the gearbox. Advantages of
automatic transmission 1. Automatic transmission is very comfortable as the driver need not worry
about the clutch and there is no need to manually change the gears with changing speeds. This adds a
lots of convenience and driving pleasure in city traffic . 2.It requires lesser skills to drive an automatic
transmission car compared to manual transmission car as the gears are changed automatically by the
transmission system of the car so the driver needs to operate just the accelerator, brake and steering.
The driver need not coordinate for the gears as per speed and does not need to operate the clutch
pedal. Disadvantages of an automatic

Forecasting Power Of Statistical Data Analytics Essay
I. PROJECT OVERVIEW
Throughout the semester, we have learned different aspects of Big Data analytics and their
practicalities. Forecasting and prediction are another important parts of data analytics. Advanced
forecasting analytics is playing a vital role in the age of Big Data, such as predicting crime activities,
weather changes, electric power generations, or personalizing marketing campaigns.
The purpose of this report is to demonstrate the forecasting power of statistical data analytics. We will
use a time series dataset to conduct the forecasting, since this type of datasets contain a set of
observations generated sequentially in time. Organizations of all types and sizes utilize time series
datasets for analysis and forecasting for predicting next year s sales figures, raw material demand,
monthly airline bookings, etc. A time series model is useful to obtain an understanding of the
underlying forces and structure that produced the data.
The rest of this paper is organized as follow: section II presents the analysis of the data with
regression analysis and Tableau based visualization. Section III presents the conclusions and
implications of the data.
II. DATAANALYSIS
The data used to conduct this analysis referred to a monthly sales and advertising expenditures of a

Abstract
The differences between Separation Anxiety Disorder (SAD) and the similar disorder, Attachment
Anxiety Disorder, were examined to show that the disorders are alike. The causes of Separation
Anxiety Disorder and the symptoms in which a child could be diagnosed were discussed. Following
that, the treatments that were presently available and ways parents could do to counter the onset of this
disorder were observed. Lastly, examples presented of the research studies were observed on a thirteen
year old boy and a two year old pointer cross. Both examples showed how both mother and owner of
the dog could figure out how the son and the dog were diagnosed and how they were treated.
Separation Anxiety disorder
Separation anxiety disorder is a condition that causes a child severe distress when away from the
parents or the caregivers. Studies show that 4 5% of children and adolescents typically have this
disorder. This paper will provide an overview of the present understandings of SAD. The information
covered in this paper will include an example of a study for both a child and an animal. The areas
examined will focus on the causes, symptoms, methods of diagnosis, ways to prevent it and the
treatment currently available for this order.

Liquidity ratios definitely show that both companies were financially stable, but Exxon was in a better
situation than Mobil. The Exxon scurrent and quick ratios (0.57 and 0.91 correspondingly) were
higher than the Mobil s (0.48 and 0.67 correspondingly) and merged company had significantly
improved these results. Ratio of net current assets as a % of total assets (i.e. working capital to total

Solvency status of companies also looked good. Though Exxon again showed its financial supremacy

Effects Of Salt Water And Water On Ice
Salt water and water effect ice in different ways. Water melts ice, but salt water makes ice melt faster.
The ice cube, which was solid, turned into water because the air temperature is warmer than the ice.
This means that the ice particles gather kinetic energy from the warmer air. The ice particles have
enough energy to break apart (melt)into smaller particle arrangements. The ice cube without salt melts
because the air around is warmer than 32 degrees F, but a salted cube melts faster because when you
add salt it dissolves into the water of the ice cube. Salt water freezes at a lower temperature than the
32 degrees F at which fresh water freezes. This makes the ice with salt on it melt faster. A similar topic

A True American Hero In Die Hard
Action packed and full of witty comments, Die Hard (1988) shows us what it is to be a true American
hero. The phrase die hard means to be loyal or very determined and thorough the actions of the main
protagonist, John McClane, the audience can see what the intention behind the name of the film was.
Elements such as editing, narrative and narration, sound and mise en scene all work to show that even
those who seem least likely to do great things can and will when the time comes. John is the last
person people expect to vanquish the plan of smart terrorists, but Die Hard (1988) tells us otherwise.
Editing tells the audience what diegetic material to look at and when. The story duration of the film is
roughly around 24 hours. The beginning is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The way John is dressed gives tells a lot about his character. Unlike everyone else in the party he is
casually dressed. When the rising action unfolds, he wears nothing but a singlet, slacks and no shoes.
Compared to what Hans Gruber wears John is not prepared for combat, but the fact that he isn t ready
makes him an even greater character. This makes him stand out and shows the audience that he is your
average guy, not someone capable of outsmarting robbers. Lighting also plays a part in revealing the
meaning in Die Hard (1988). In the beginning scenes, the use of high key lighting lets the audience
know that there is no danger. Towards the rising action on the other hand, low key lighting is used to
show that danger is near or is already happening. This intensifies the action scenes and makes John
look more like a hero as he goes around the building trying to save the lives of innocent people. In Die
Hard (1988) the visual information we are shown reveals character and works with all the elements to
offer the meaning behind the

Effective Parenting-Early Development, Various Parenting...
Parents act as the first teachers in a child s life. Both mothers and fathers can have very unique
influences on their children. Mothers and fathers parent differently, however, both maternal and
paternal figures are essential in healthy development. Together both parents teach their children many
things including how to eat, walk, talk and underlying emotions such as love, trust and happiness.
Oppositely parents may also teach their kids, often unknowing of the effects they are causing, distrust,
anger, and contempt. Every parent parents differently using various methods, styles, and techniques.

There are different forms of attachment. Secure attachment has been achieved when the mother (or
whomever is the primary care giver to which they have attached, using mother as an example) leaves

what is healthy for the child. Insecure attachment develops when the attachment is not secure. There
are two types of insecure attachment, avoidant and ambivalent. Insecure avoidant attachment is
present when the child is anxious and avoids their mother upon her return. Insecure ambivalent
attachment is present when the child is anxious at her departure, however has mixed emotions upon

parent is different in how they raise their children. The set manner with which a parent decides to raise

authoritarian parent reigns strict rules are set forth and expected to be followed explicitly, orders are
given often without a reason just an explanation that they must be followed; in these homes children
have very little rights with great amounts of responsibility. Authoritative parents, on the other hand,

others find it difficult in terms of effective human resources management. Generational diversity has
become an essential element of many diversity strategies. Companies are now managing a broader

while younger generations are climbing the corporate ladder and entering the workforce expecting fast

delaying their retirement plans. By the same token, professional development resources that were once
relegated to entry level and new employees have become a necessity for workers at all levels. This

organizations, benefits gender diversity by helping change the norms and expectations about the way
employees work, increasing awareness about workplace trends in different cultural and national

Angiogenic Pathogenesis
The progression from fibrosis to cirrhosis, the end point of CLDs, is distinguished by a prolonged
inflammatory and fibrogenic process that leads to an abnormal angioarchitecture distinctive for
cirrhosis. Several mechanisms are responsible for the angiogenic switch during the pathogenesis of
CLDs. First, CLDs are characterised by chronic inflammation. Increased intrahepatic vascular
resistance is primarily caused by anatomical changes, such as fibrotic scar tissue compressing portal
and central venules. In addition, the formation of fibrotic septa, as well as sinusoidal capillarisation,
can result in an increased resistance to blood flow and oxygen delivery. This results in hypoxia and the
transcription of hypoxia sensitive pro angiogenic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The characteristic fenestrated phenotype of the sinusoidal ECs is lost and an organised basement
membrane is established, which leads to an impairment of oxygen diffusion even though the increased
arterial flow provides a high supply of oxygenated blood . The deposition of collagen in the space of
Disse accentuates the narrowing and distortion of the sinusoidal lumen, further restricting
microvascular blood flow. This is aggravated by leucocytes, either mechanically trapped in the
narrowed sinusoids or adhering to the endothelium, as a result of activation of a hepatic microvascular
inflammatory response. The hypoxic liver tissue causes an up regulation of VEGF, Ang and their
receptors in HSCs, not only enhancing the hypoxia induced angiogenesis but also stimulating
activation and migration of HSC. As stated previously, activated HSCs induce an inflammatory
response and enhance angiogenesis. New vessels themselves can significantly contribute to the
perpetuation of the inflammatory response by expressing chemokines and adhesion molecules
promoting the recruitment of inflammatory cells. Furthermore, angiogenesis, early in the course of a
CLD, may contribute to the transition from acute to chronic

Persuasive Speech About Martin Luther
Hello, Good Morning the jury, the judge, and the audience. I am Abiel Ghebre and I will be
representing the innocence of Martin Luther. Today, We are gathered here to fight against the Catholic
Church to see if my client is guilty causing a rebellion against the church. He questioned the Church s
leadership and it s theology. But proving his claims with factual evidence, it outraged the Catholic
Church. Before we continue with my case, let everybody be reminded the Catholic Church is
extremely manipulative and super controlling. They have so much power, controlling over Kings,
Queens, Monarchs, and millions of people. Making 99 percent of everybody s opinion already toward
their side, that is unfair, we must have an unfavorable decision on who wins. Just because of their
power, nobody should be pushed to agree with their side. Thank You and I m going to start proving
Martin Luther s innocence.
Just because of the Catholic Church s position of power and respect, any bit of challenging their
power will upset them, make them see that as an act of treason. First of all let me have everybody be
reminded that the Catholic Church has committed many acts of wrongful doing against Christians and
Humanity, and Martin Luther is a christian. Is it a coincidence? I think not. Martin Luther is German
Monk, formerly Catholic Priest also a professor of theology and seminal figure. Therefore leaving him

Sue Matt For F Shore Accident Falls Under The Australian...
Scott s intention to sue Matt for the off shore accident falls under the Australian Law of Torts. Derived
from an old French vocabulary, the term tort refers to a wrongful act. It is paramount for Scott to
understand that tort is very different from a regular crime. Whereas an individual suffers from injury
due to an act of another person and the court can present a redress in a tort, in a crime, the wrong is
perceived to target the entire community and the courts are required to follow the prevailing criminal
law to offer requisite punishment to the person who is being accused of criminal liability. A person

Scott must successfully establish that the three elements that constitute a tort were inherent in the
circumstances that led to his injury. The three elements are the existence of a duty to take care of his
safety and interests by the boat owner; Matt s breach of such duty of care and the possible
quantification of damages that are due to him due to the harm or injuries caused by the breach of duty
by Mr. Matt. It is these three elements that distinguish negligence from carelessness. The duty of care
that Scott would be required to ascertain before the courts for a successful suit were first described by
Lord Atkin in Donoghue v. Stevenson 1932 AC 562. While presiding over the case and in a majority
ruling, Lord Atkin states that a duty to use ordinary care and skill arises in circumstances where the
conduct of another might put others in danger. Reasonable care must be taken in particular
circumstances to avoid omissions or acts that can be reasonably foreseen to as likely causes of harm or
injury to another person. Whenever a person is engaged in actions whose outcomes he or she can
reasonably foresee will likely to cause harm or injury to another person, a duty of care is then owed to
that other person. Two tests must therefore be met to ascertain the existence of a duty of care from
Matt determination of proximity and foreseeability of the circumstances that led to Scott s injuries.

Human Relationships and Happiness
Human Relationships and Happiness Happiness is only experienced when you share it with others
around you. Your friends, family, significant others, peers, and books all show a person how it is better
to share your happiness with others than to experience it by yourself. In songs the artists always sing
about how they are happier with people and how it is hard to share things by being alone. Although
being alone can be nice and it gives you a feeling of serenity, it isn t the same as it would be with
someone else because you are able to share it with family, friends, significant others, and books. All of
these factors help with how you experience your own happiness. Family is a key part to a person s

stronger. When you don t have friends like this it is hard to feel happy and to share that happiness
which makes these relationships more meaningful than being alone and not being able to have those
laughs with others. After reading so many books I have come to realize that the only time a character
is sad or upset about something is because they aren t able to share something that has happened in
their life. For example, in the book Beastly the main character is popular and has everything he wants
but isn t able to share the fact that he won class president because his father isn t ever there for him.
But because he is so selfish he is turned into a beast and the only way to change back is to have
someone fall in love with him not by looks but what is on the inside. He was always sad and depressed
because he wasn t able to find someone that would love him for who he really is, but when he finds
someone he shares a connection with her and begins to express happiness. This book is a perfect
example as to why human relationships equal happiness. Happiness is only experienced when you
share it with others around you. You re family, friends, significant others, and even in books, show
how happiness can only be achieved when you share it. Like Chris

America Stands At A Crossroads
America stands at a crossroads. The Fascists in Europe and the Imperialists in Japan threaten the very
foundation of our nation. Our troops fight valiantly to beat back these enemies who seek to encroach
upon our values of freedom and equality. Yet, in the background, a domestic war wages on. Of course,
I refer to the plight of Negro Americans against Jim Crow. Our political leaders constantly request the
patience of Negro promising change is right around the corner. However, many have come to
understand the emptiness of these words. If change will not come from the top then it must come from
the people, and it begins with the integration of baseball. Why baseball? you may ask. It is because
baseball is the quintessential mark of being an American. European immigrants, who are often
different from native born Americans in terms of language and religion, have been able to integrate
into American life simply by playing or being fans of the sport. The connections formed on the field
and in the stands have given native born Americans and immigrants an opportunity to connect, to
understand, and to respect one another. This pattern of understanding and respect coming through
association has been seen elsewhere as well. I remember how Negroes and Whites worked alongside
one another in New York during the Great War. It was undoubtedly a rough transition, yet because of
firm management, very few problems arose as I recall, not a single hate strike occurred during that
time.

French Revolution Research Paper
The France in 1789 was a country that was about to have a revolution. There were a lot of French
people who were not happy with the government, which was not happy with the social system, not
satisfied with the economic situation in France, and were probably really unhappy with life. This essay
explores three areas of life in France in 1789. First policy, particularly the structure of power. Then the
company, which this time was very uneven. Eventually the economy, in France during the 18th
century, there was a real economic crisis. Politics, unequal society and the economy, together created a

Moreover, the king did nothing to improve the situation. Besides, he lived at Versailles, away from the
struggles of Paris as well other poor living in the countryside.
A major reason for the difficult financial situation in France at that time was the increase in the French
population. Since the early 18th century, the population of France increased dramatically. The country
had 28 million people in 1789, from 8 to 10 million more than in 1700. Apart from a few major cities
(Paris, Lyon and Marseille), 80% of the population lived in the countryside. This rural majority lived
off the land. The farmers rented land of rich lords and need their pay significant taxes for the right to
grow plants. The lords were then supposed to turn over a portion of these taxes to the king, but in fact
the lords often kept much to themselves. Most of the time only a third of the unpopular tax on salt, salt
tax has been redistributed to the king.
Meanwhile, the peasants had time really hard to live from their work and the vast majority were living
below the subsistence level. As the cost of flour began to climb the people were left to starve, unable
to afford bread more. It eventually became a major source of revolt that bread was and is the main

Welfare For Children of Illegal Immigrants Essay
Welfare For Children of Illegal Immigrants
The United States is in the midst of a major debate over immigrants and their place in our economic
and political life. As during other times in our history, immigrants, are being blamed for causing or
contributing to the social, economic and political ills of our society. Politicians from both major
parties, at both the national and state levels, are promoting a range of punitive legislative proposals
that single out immigrants for adverse treatment by the government. Many violate basic civil liberties
principles.

On the contrary, this boy with the complete understanding of what welfare means will take a
completely different approach.
Typically, liberals would dismiss this finding, arguing that families who receive a lot of welfare
payments have lower total incomes than other families in society, and that it is low overall family
income, not welfare, which has a negative effect on the young boys. But the Borcoran and Gordon
study compares families whose average non welfare incomes were identical. In such cases, each extra
dollar in welfare represents a net increase in overall financial resources available to the family. This
extra income, according to conventional liberal welfare theory should have positive effects on the well
being of the children. But the study shows that the extra welfare income, even though it produced a
net increase in resources available to the family, the lower the earnings obtained by the boys upon
reaching adulthood.
Other studies have confirmed the negative effects of welfare on the development of children. For
example, young women who are raised in families dependent on welfare are two to three times more
likely to drop out and fail to graduate from high school than are young women of similar race and
socioeconomic background not raised on welfare. Similarly, single mothers who were raised as
children in families

Commodification Of Halloween
With the increase in reinterpretations of death and Halloween symbols, two fundamental things
occurred, the mass commodification of Halloween and a decontextualization of the symbols of death.
In 1978 the premiere of Halloween, directed by John Carpenter, directly placed the holiday itself in
relation to horror and gruesome death, more so than the introduction of gothic horror ever did (Rogers
110; Khapaeva 58). The introduction of explicit horror, according to Rogers, created. a coded
language that enables authors and invites their audiences to explore their fears, hidden desires, and
anxieties (110). This established a creative space in which fantasy and dissociation could be merged
creating a popularization of death without actually dealing with the reality of death itself. It created a
space where the narrative of horror and death could be controlled and regulated, through established
archetypes. This directly contrasted the collective psyche of the 1970s and 80s in the United States,
which was dealing with the ramifications of the AIDS epidemic (the worst epidemic since Polio), and
an increase in social, religious, and political conservatism (Khapaeva 78). Through horror movies and
Halloween, social anxieties could be dealt with in an a political and creative way, while still
maintaining the sanitized separation of hospital and culture.
In the contemporary period, Halloween s popularity has increased. Personal expenditures on
Halloween have drastically increased since the 2000s, to create a multi billion dollar industry, which
has expanded the cultural awareness and practice of Halloween (Khapaeva 57). However, this
expansion has led to the commodification of Halloween, by equating it with consumer culture. This
has significant implications for the cultural conception of death as it equate previously potent symbols
with cheap goods. But this might have been by design, as Grider argues that the mass
commercialization of Halloween is another way in which collectively western culture can control the
potentially dangerous incursion of the supernatural world in our everyday lives (10). Through the
ownership of material goods associated with Halloween, the narrative and context of the concepts are
further

  • 2. Pro Abortion Cons Introduction Abortion is a polarizing topic that everyone will have their own opinion on. Abortions have an increasing number of cases all over the world. All of these cases have factors such as social economic issues. As the Merriam Webster dictionary mentions, the termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus: such as a spontaneous expulsion of a human fetus during the first 12 weeks of gestation. Since abortions is much of a controversial topic, there are many sides to it. The two main sides/groups are pro life and pro choice. According to the article Pro Life vs. Pro Choice, a person who is pro life believes that the government has an obligation to preserve ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When rape happens, one didn t intend on having/keeping the kid. So, therefore, abortion must happen. According to a national sample of women it states that there was an estimated of 32,101 pregnancies result from rape each year. 50% of those women underwent abortions. According to the fact sheet that Guttmacher Institute has provided online, it states that in the years of 2010 2014 the abortion number were statistically significant. In most developing countries, there have been 49.3 million abortions. Advantages Of Abortions Aborting an unexpected child gives young women a chance to finish/pursue their education. According to article/blog The Drop Out Crisis and Teen Pregnancy written by Olivia Marshall states that back in 2011 1.3 million high school students who dropped out; 30 percent of girls cite pregnancy or parenthood as a key reason of why they left school. Cause a young woman may not have the resources to still be in school be able to take care of the child. Abortion has also been a help to women with health problems. Women who have diseases such as heart disease, hypertension, and anemia have been able to avoid serious medical complications with abortions. There are many other advantages. Parents used this method to control the family size. Such as being in a family of 6, you feel like having another one is too high so you abort it. Rape victims also use abortions as an advantage. • 3. Freedom Is The Story Of Universal Freedom Based On Two Men... Freedom is the story of universal freedom based on two men living a century apart. Samuel Woodward (Cuba Gooding, Jr.) is a slave in 1856 who is desperate to be free. He escapes with his family from the largest slave plantation in Virginia assisted by the Underground Railroad. The plantation owner Jefferson Monroe (David Rasche) wants them back alive. He talks the infamous slave hunter Plimpton (William Sadler) out of retirement and he stresses that no slave has ever escaped from his plantation. Coincidently, Samuels s wife Vanessa (Sharon Leal) just happens to be Monroe s bastard daughter and he will spare no expense for her return. Plimpton and his two man posse are in hot pursuit and always seem to be one step behind the escaping slaves on their quest to Canada and freedom. As their capture appears eminent, Samuel starts losing his faith and ability to sing. Desperately wanting to help her son, his mother Adira (Phyllis Bash) starts narrating the tale of John Newton (Bernhard Forcher), the captain of the slave ship Pegasus and Samuel s great grandfather, a slave bound for America in 1748. During their journey, Newton is battling his moral conscience and faith inspiring him to compose one of the most notable Christian hymns Amazing Grace. Freedom turned out to be a musical based on hope and faith inspired by the song Amazing Grace with the underlying story of freedom rather than a drama about slavery and the Underground Railroad. There is more music and narrative ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Swelling of the spleen, kidney stones, blood clots, aneurysms, cancer and so much more can be identified through the works of an ultrasound s imaging technique. Ultrasound involves many concepts, procedures, and careers. The amount of medical possibilities involved with ultrasounds is useful in major medical diagnostics. The field of ultrasounds and career opportunities are widely growing. As medical careers flourish, needs for technicians in many fields of medicine are increasing. A shadow picture is constructed from different echoes being reflected from a variety of tissues (Radiological Society of North America). Ultrasounds can come in many forms. Traditional images are displayed in thin, flat sections of the body. However, advancement in technology now includes 3 D and 4 D ultrasounds as well as many other specific types (Radiological Society of North America). To begin, 3 D ultrasound configures the sound wave data into 3 D images and 4 D ultrasound is considered a version of 3 D ultrasound that shows motion (Radiological Society of North America). Another type of examination is a Doppler ultrasound may be part of an examination. Doppler ultrasounds use a special technique that assesses blood flow through blood vessels, including the body s major arteries and veins in the legs, neck, and abdomen. • 5. Comparing The Book Frankenstein By Mary Shelly For my dissertation I will be comparing the books Frankenstein by Mary Shelly, The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, and finally 1984 by George Orwell. All three books I believe share a common theme which will be the subject of my dissertation. They all hold many themes but the main ones I will be looking at are the perils of playing god, abuse of power, and lastly manipulation and control. One of the main themes of Frankenstein written by Mary Shelly in 1816 is the fall of man which can be found in all three of the books in my dissertation, how man tries to progress in science or society but ends up making the situation worse. This can be found in many books and in real life situations which leads me to think trying to improve yet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While undoubtedly the biggest theme running through Frankenstein is the perils of playing god and how that can backfire, another large theme is parental neglect and irresponsibility which can also be found in again Jekyll and Hyde and 1984. Sadly parental neglect can be found throughout human history which again makes me think it could be a metaphor for something bigger. It could be how people always have a secret dark side; maybe it s that side of us which can be to blame for all the wrong things in society? Or maybe that s just another excuse to be the bad guy. Victor Frankenstein s quote can also be compared with a quote from Robert Louis Stevenson s Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde narrated by Dr. Jekyll himself. In this next quote it shows again the total lack of responsibility that we first saw in Frankenstein. I hesitated long before I put this theory to the test of practice. I knew well that I risked death; for any drug that so potently controlled and shook the very fortress of identity, might, by the least scruple of an overdose or at the least inopportunity in the moment of exhibition, utterly blot out that immaterial tabernacle which I looked to it to change. But the temptation of a discovery so singular and profound at last overcame the suggestions of alarm. (Chp.10 Pg.54) As previously shown, Dr. Jekyll completely ignores his own knowledge in that if that potion had gone wrong (an instant death rather than split personality disorder) he would ve died. • 6. Essay about Gang Violence in Philadelphia The streets of Philadelphia are rapidly becoming a home to violent acts and random homicides. Innocent lives are taken every day due to the strong presence of gangs, and the streets are run by unruly groups of fearless young adults. Gang violence in Philadelphia is a major issue, and the citizens will never be safe until gang prevention occurs. Gang prevention is not a simple task, but with the right resources available, it is possible. Gang violence is a problem that will contribute to the collapse of Philadelphia, and it has yet to be solved throughout many generations. With gang violence on the rise, the best solution to gang violence is to educate the youth and parents about gangs and use family support to prevent the creation of gang ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After realizing this method was not exactly efficient in preventing gang violence, programs were started to steer gangs in the right direction. Although these programs are new and are not fully functioning yet, they have shown significant improvements in prevention and continue to research the topic to this day. The solution to gang violence has not been discovered yet, but there are many theories regarding the issue. Possible Solutions Throughout the years, many plausible solutions to gang violence have been presented. A commonly thought of solution to gang violence is to punish and arrest gang members. People want anyone who is in contact with gangs locked up, but that will only make gangs rebel more. By doing so, the streets would be rid of gangs, but jails would be overpopulated with them. It may seem like having gangs in jail would solve the problem, but gang leaders being in jail does not stop a gang from continuing what they re doing. Arresting gang members teaches nothing except for children to hate the authorities. From 1985 to 1994, the number of American youths arrested for murder increased 158%, to more than 2,200 (Teen Gangs and Crime, 1996). If a child resents the authorities, they would be more likely to join a gang that goes against authorities. Officials are aware that they cannot arrest their way out of gang violence, and they have to take positive measures (Parks Recreation, 2009). The most important thing to remember is To treat this not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Short Story Of Bravery In Unbroken This summer I was at the Ottawa County fair doing the off road Derby. I wasn t sure about doing it at first, but my mom and dad said I would be fine.I got to choose what number I was and I got to choose what color it was too. In the end my mom and dad were right, it was fun and I got 3rd place for my first time. By doing the derby for the first time I showed Bravery. Bravery has risks and to other people they could be good risks and bad risks. The character s Louie from the book Unbroken and the sniper from the short story The Sniper shows Bravery through the joining the war while trying to survive, and already being in the war while being prepared and trying to survive. First off, In the story Unbroken By Laura Hillenbrand Louie is brave by joining the war and trying to survive. The first piece of evidence is The military was going to make him a bombardier. That fall, Louie was on his way to becoming an airman (HillBrand 45). According to the quote how that shows bravery is becoming an airman in the 1940 s is very dangerous.Because planes are good, but not very reliable. So Louie had to be very brave to become an airman especially a bombardier. The second piece of evidence is Below very close something exploded and superman rocked. • 8. The Importance Of The Tower Of Babel The most segregated place is Sunday service, what does that say about the God you worship? Lecrae; Dirty Water Too many one might think that the Tower of Babel is about God punishing people, and in a way it was. The confusion that God placed on the people was something made to humble the people trying to be at the same height of God. But the realities are that we have made strides in the list of human achievements that have surpassed the height of the tower of Babel, and through that singular event, culture had erupted onto the earth. The shift of being like God has changed from a physical one to a psychological one. Our idea of our ability to be god like has inflated people in our lives. From the people, we expect evil from like Hitler and Stalin, and from people who might not be as obvious as religious leaders and people in mentoring positions in our lives. We don t worship for God, but for ourselves was a quote from Joel Osteen s Wife, her message is a simple one worship God for the feelings that derive from it, not to elicit humbling praise for the grace that God has hand delivered us. The dislocation in the church has been something of an issue since the beginning of the church in Acts. Steven was killed giving a list of issues that he found in the church (Acts 7), and Martin Luther, and many other have died at the hands of the church. Yet, my statement remains; Our battle has changed from a physical one to a psychological one. The point of the tower of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. The Differences Of The Odyssey By Homer s The Odyssey Odyssey Essay! The amazing epic poem by Homer entitled The Odyssey shares many similarities and many differences as well with the Hallmark movie of the same name. The epic poem is about the hero Odysseus who has spent twenty long years filled with toil and loss, through war and sea desperate to return to his home of Ithaca. Odysseus has angered some of the gods and goddesses of a Greek Mythology with his destruction of the mighty city of Troy. Odysseus is represented in the poem and the movie, but there are several differences between the two in the events he encountered. There are also numerous similarities For starters, the setting of the movie and the poem are both centralized around Ithaca and scattered Islands of Greece. The Greek mythology was also a main theme in the two, such as Odysseus s protection by The goddess Athena and the hatred be Odysseus and Poseidon. One of the more difficult aspect that the movie had gotten spot on was the displaying of Odysseus s leadership throughout the God s (mainly Poseidon s) wrath and the ever enduring seas of Greece. However throughout all of the hardships his crewmen remained loyal to him and his faith that they would one day return to the shores of Odysseus s mighty Kingdom of Ithaca. Another main similarity between the poem and the movie but put into more depth in the movie is how the people of Ithaca where dealing with Odysseus s absence. • 10. Comparing Blood Wedding And Yerma The greatest Spanish dramatist and poet, Frederico Lorca, wrote two books with very different plots, yet the literary elements included were very similar The Blood Wedding and Yerma portray the political and sociological views that are customary to Spain, such as male dominance, as well as family honor. In addition, both The Blood Wedding and Yerma, contain the theme of human will fighting against human destiny, encompassing a broad depiction of Spanish ideology. The Blood Wedding and Yerma consistently exemplify the dominance of men in correspondence to the inferiority of women. During this time in Spain, that mentality was the norm, and widely accepted. Lorca portrays this mindset vividly in both of these novels, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I know she s a good girl. Isn t she? Quiet. Hard working. She bakes her bread and sews her skirts... (Lorca 5) The Bridegroom s mother represents Spain s society as a whole, in regard to the woman s role to be Quiet, hard working, to bake and to sew. She doesn t inquire if she s pretty, or intelligent, etc, she only wants to know what she s going to do for her son. Lorca gives the reader the opportunity to sympathize with the Bride, and her lack of true identity, due to a distorted society. Yerma, though a completely different story line, portrays an even greater sense of male dominance, and female minority. Lorca ambiguously creates an ongoing dialogue between a married couple, Juan and Yerma, allowing us to see the extent of male dominance in this culture. Juan, is a very prideful, controlling husband is scolding his wife Yerma. JUAN. Don t you know the kind of man I am? The sheep in the fold, and the women in their houses. You go out too much. Haven t you heard me say that from the beginning? (Lorca, 92). Throughout the story, Juan is reprimanding his wife over different things, primarily over her desire for a child, that isn t remotely mutual, but this time Lorca uses Juan to define the control that men have over the women. He makes a very strong point regarding how demanding Juan is, having a huge impact on this generation, because this level of control over women is something we can barely relate to. Lorca then uses Yerma, to expound on the male ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The ice particles have enough energy to break apart (melt)into smaller particle arrangements. The ice cube without salt melts because the air around is warmer than 32 degrees F, but a salted cube melts faster because when you add salt it dissolves into the water of the ice cube. Angiogenic Pathogenesis The progression from fibrosis to cirrhosis, the end point of CLDs, is distinguished by a prolonged inflammatory and fibrogenic process that leads to an abnormal angioarchitecture distinctive for cirrhosis. Several mechanisms are responsible for the angiogenic switch during the pathogenesis of CLDs. First, CLDs are characterised by chronic inflammation. Increased intrahepatic vascular resistance is primarily caused by anatomical changes, such as fibrotic scar tissue compressing portal and central venules. This is aggravated by leucocytes, either mechanically trapped in the narrowed sinusoids or adhering to the endothelium, as a result of activation of a hepatic microvascular inflammatory response. The hypoxic liver tissue causes an up regulation of VEGF, Ang and their receptors in HSCs, not only enhancing the hypoxia induced angiogenesis but also stimulating activation and migration of HSC. The duty of care that Scott would be required to ascertain before the courts for a successful suit were first described by Lord Atkin in Donoghue v. Stevenson 1932 AC 562. While presiding over the case and in a majority ruling, Lord Atkin states that a duty to use ordinary care and skill arises in circumstances where the conduct of another might put others in danger. Reasonable care must be taken in particular circumstances to avoid omissions or acts that can be reasonably foreseen to as likely causes of harm or injury to another person. Whenever a person is engaged in actions whose outcomes he or she can reasonably foresee will likely to cause harm or injury to another person, a duty of care is then owed to that other person. Two tests must therefore be met to ascertain the existence of a duty of care from Matt determination of proximity and foreseeability of the circumstances that led to Scott s injuries. • 33. Human Relationships and Happiness Human Relationships and Happiness Happiness is only experienced when you share it with others around you. Your friends, family, significant others, peers, and books all show a person how it is better to share your happiness with others than to experience it by yourself. In songs the artists always sing about how they are happier with people and how it is hard to share things by being alone. Although being alone can be nice and it gives you a feeling of serenity, it isn t the same as it would be with someone else because you are able to share it with family, friends, significant others, and books. All of these factors help with how you experience your own happiness. Family is a key part to a person s happiness. Your mother and father ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By getting help from friends and people that you love it helps you grow as a person and it makes you stronger. When you don t have friends like this it is hard to feel happy and to share that happiness which makes these relationships more meaningful than being alone and not being able to have those laughs with others. After reading so many books I have come to realize that the only time a character is sad or upset about something is because they aren t able to share something that has happened in their life. For example, in the book Beastly the main character is popular and has everything he wants but isn t able to share the fact that he won class president because his father isn t ever there for him. But because he is so selfish he is turned into a beast and the only way to change back is to have someone fall in love with him not by looks but what is on the inside. He was always sad and depressed because he wasn t able to find someone that would love him for who he really is, but when he finds someone he shares a connection with her and begins to express happiness. This book is a perfect example as to why human relationships equal happiness. Happiness is only experienced when you share it with others around you. You re family, friends, significant others, and even in books, show how happiness can only be achieved when you share it. Like Chris ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. America Stands At A Crossroads America stands at a crossroads. The Fascists in Europe and the Imperialists in Japan threaten the very foundation of our nation. Our troops fight valiantly to beat back these enemies who seek to encroach upon our values of freedom and equality. Yet, in the background, a domestic war wages on. Of course, I refer to the plight of Negro Americans against Jim Crow. Our political leaders constantly request the patience of Negro promising change is right around the corner. However, many have come to understand the emptiness of these words. If change will not come from the top then it must come from the people, and it begins with the integration of baseball. Why baseball? you may ask. It is because baseball is the quintessential mark of being an American. European immigrants, who are often different from native born Americans in terms of language and religion, have been able to integrate into American life simply by playing or being fans of the sport. The connections formed on the field and in the stands have given native born Americans and immigrants an opportunity to connect, to understand, and to respect one another. This pattern of understanding and respect coming through association has been seen elsewhere as well. I remember how Negroes and Whites worked alongside one another in New York during the Great War. It was undoubtedly a rough transition, yet because of firm management, very few problems arose as I recall, not a single hate strike occurred during that time. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Jules Jacobson This week I did something I have never done before. I DNFed a book. That s right I have decided I will never finish this book. You might be asking. Is this really the first time? As far back as I can remember this is the first time. Now I have in the past put a book to the side for say a year or two. Always with the intention that I will finish it one day and so far I have been finishing them. This time, I just can t bring myself to finish it. What is this book? you might ask and the book is The Interesting s by Meg Wolitzer. What is the reason behind the decision. The fact is, its the protagonist, Jules Jacobson. I just can t stand that character. Page after page (or in the case it ended up being hour after hour of the audiobook) she just got more and more on my nerves. I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I enjoyed her writing style over all. I enjoyed every other character in the book but there was never enough time away from Jules Jacobson. I love the plot. I really wish I could go on so I can see what happens with the characters but even when I skipped to the end of the book, Jules was still behaving in a way that I just couldn t stand. I saw this book on Goodreads. It seemed interesting, I got the free sample on my kindle, I loved it. The next morning I went to the library first thing, excited to read more, by the time of the fourth chapter I knew I was going to have some issues with staying focused enough on the book to get it read, I found the audiobook on Scribd. I put that on. I made it all the way to half way through chapter 11, which is about half way. I couldn t stand it a moment longer. Now why am I writing a post about DNFing a book, when really it just sounds like I m pulling this one book apart. The reason is that I have always felt that I need to finish a book I ve started. I still feel like I should finish this book, even though you reading this now can see how much I was not enjoying ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. French Revolution Research Paper The France in 1789 was a country that was about to have a revolution. There were a lot of French people who were not happy with the government, which was not happy with the social system, not satisfied with the economic situation in France, and were probably really unhappy with life. This essay explores three areas of life in France in 1789. First policy, particularly the structure of power. Then the company, which this time was very uneven. Eventually the economy, in France during the 18th century, there was a real economic crisis. Politics, unequal society and the economy, together created a discontent environment and end cause the French Revolution. Besides, he lived at Versailles, away from the struggles of Paris as well other poor living in the countryside. A major reason for the difficult financial situation in France at that time was the increase in the French population. Since the early 18th century, the population of France increased dramatically. The country had 28 million people in 1789, from 8 to 10 million more than in 1700. Apart from a few major cities (Paris, Lyon and Marseille), 80% of the population lived in the countryside. This rural majority lived off the land. The farmers rented land of rich lords and need their pay significant taxes for the right to grow plants. The lords were then supposed to turn over a portion of these taxes to the king, but in fact the lords often kept much to themselves. Most of the time only a third of the unpopular tax on salt, salt tax has been redistributed to the king. Meanwhile, the peasants had time really hard to live from their work and the vast majority were living below the subsistence level. As the cost of flour began to climb the people were left to starve, unable to afford bread more. It eventually became a major source of revolt that bread was and is the main element of each French grocery ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Welfare For Children of Illegal Immigrants Essay Welfare For Children of Illegal Immigrants The United States is in the midst of a major debate over immigrants and their place in our economic and political life. As during other times in our history, immigrants, are being blamed for causing or contributing to the social, economic and political ills of our society. Politicians from both major parties, at both the national and state levels, are promoting a range of punitive legislative proposals that single out immigrants for adverse treatment by the government. Many violate basic civil liberties principles. Based on The Bill of Rights , foreigners do not have the right to enter the United States, but once here, immigrants are entitled to certain broad constitutional ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On the contrary, this boy with the complete understanding of what welfare means will take a completely different approach. Typically, liberals would dismiss this finding, arguing that families who receive a lot of welfare payments have lower total incomes than other families in society, and that it is low overall family income, not welfare, which has a negative effect on the young boys. But the Borcoran and Gordon study compares families whose average non welfare incomes were identical. In such cases, each extra dollar in welfare represents a net increase in overall financial resources available to the family. This extra income, according to conventional liberal welfare theory should have positive effects on the well being of the children. But the study shows that the extra welfare income, even though it produced a net increase in resources available to the family, the lower the earnings obtained by the boys upon reaching adulthood. Other studies have confirmed the negative effects of welfare on the development of children. For example, young women who are raised in families dependent on welfare are two to three times more likely to drop out and fail to graduate from high school than are young women of similar race and socioeconomic background not raised on welfare. Similarly, single mothers who were raised as children in families ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Commodification Of Halloween With the increase in reinterpretations of death and Halloween symbols, two fundamental things occurred, the mass commodification of Halloween and a decontextualization of the symbols of death. In 1978 the premiere of Halloween, directed by John Carpenter, directly placed the holiday itself in relation to horror and gruesome death, more so than the introduction of gothic horror ever did (Rogers 110; Khapaeva 58). The introduction of explicit horror, according to Rogers, created. a coded language that enables authors and invites their audiences to explore their fears, hidden desires, and anxieties (110). This established a creative space in which fantasy and dissociation could be merged creating a popularization of death without actually dealing with the reality of death itself. It created a space where the narrative of horror and death could be controlled and regulated, through established archetypes. This directly contrasted the collective psyche of the 1970s and 80s in the United States, which was dealing with the ramifications of the AIDS epidemic (the worst epidemic since Polio), and an increase in social, religious, and political conservatism (Khapaeva 78). Through horror movies and Halloween, social anxieties could be dealt with in an a political and creative way, while still maintaining the sanitized separation of hospital and culture. In the contemporary period, Halloween s popularity has increased. Personal expenditures on Halloween have drastically increased since the 2000s, to create a multi billion dollar industry, which has expanded the cultural awareness and practice of Halloween (Khapaeva 57). However, this expansion has led to the commodification of Halloween, by equating it with consumer culture. This has significant implications for the cultural conception of death as it equate previously potent symbols with cheap goods. But this might have been by design, as Grider argues that the mass commercialization of Halloween is another way in which collectively western culture can control the potentially dangerous incursion of the supernatural world in our everyday lives (10). Through the ownership of material goods associated with Halloween, the narrative and context of the concepts are further ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
