Biotechnology applies technology to biology and can affect many areas including medicine, food, and the environment. An introductory lesson on biotechnology discussed how it can be used to change aspects of human, animal, and plant life by addressing real-world problems and developing biological solutions. As an activity, students were asked to partner with someone to sketch and write about a potential biotechnology solution they could create as an engineer that would target an area of living things they want to change and why.
