Boost PC performance: How more available memory can improve productivity
Prototype and test
1.
2. PROBLEM STATEMENT
Ana, a recent graduate from civil engineering needs
a way to connect to resources who could answer the
question about entering the working world beecasue
she has to understand what position and work area
could be most suitable for her.
3. Selected Three Ideas
• Create facebook page for students like Ana to
share what they have done, create twitter group
and Linked group - Included in prototype 1
• Create a free mobile game that will simulate civil
engineering job, ask people to contribute, have
leader board and badges. Connect status with the
facebook page. – Included in prototype 1
• Find a favorite hang out place, Friday nights, of
people from the company you respect. Get there
with a couple of friends, approach someone form
the company have a chat.
4. Prototype One
• Free Mobile Game for civil engineering job: have a game where everyday you will get a task
created by professional civil engineer. The task will be executed in the game and people will
earn points, levels and badges. The goal is for new graduates to learn more about potential
positions and job tasks.
1
Civil engineering company creates
project and assign to professional
engineers
2
Professional engineers
select a task and post it
to the mobile game
Professional engineers
earn
points, badges, level
status on their activities
3
4
Fresh graduate civil engineers select a
task, complete it with interactive games
where they can ask question and share
with their community
5
They can share the
accomplishments on social
media
5. Prototype One Testing
• The test was carried out with 5 people
• Asked them to draw the application icon and
walk them through the functions
• Perform role-play simulating assignign a
task, selecting a task and playing the task on a
piece of paper
• Used post stickers for identified gaps and
unplanned issues
6. Prototype Two
• Create facebook page for students like Ana to share what they have done, create twitter
group and Linked group. The goal is for new graduates to share what they learned about
potential positions and job tasks.
1
A face book, Linked, twitter
account for new engineers looking
for carrier path and position is
created
2
Professional engineers,
other students,
enthusiast sign up for
the face book, LinkedIn,
twitter
Everyone post
scomments, articles, rela
ted new technology etc
3
4
Learning, sharing and
collaboration achieved for the
new community
7. Prototype Two Testing
• The test was carried out with 4 people
• One pretended to use Linkedin group and what
they would share
• They alo talked about certain time of days when
they would visit it
• They pretended to look for the information of
interest to them
• Used post stickers to get the comments and
feedback
8. What I learned By Testing
• The most important thing is to prototype, test and redo your prototype.
The first time almost any thing is done there are huge gaps and cyclical
approach is the learning curve that matters. Between problem and
solutions there should be more than one road and several bridges.
• Learning process in solving problem is critical. Nothing is perfect, but we
are able to improve things by practice.
• It is important to listen to stakeholders and not defend the solution.
9. What would I do Next…
If I continue working on this project I would:
• Come up with more prototypes for the same problem solution
• Spend more time on testing
• Involve more people in testing
• Create metric for testing
• Re-protoptype and test until no more comments is received from tester
• Prepare more elaborate prototype and test again
• Prepare commercialized prototype version
