2. A Tokyo hotel has set up crying rooms specifically
for women – complete with luxury tissues and a
selection of ‘girly’ films.
The X hotel in the ward of Shinjuku said the rooms
are designed to allow female guests to ‘cry
heartily’ in comfort.
It’s part of an effort to help them to de-stress or
overcome any emotional problems that may be
plaguing them, the hotel said.
They can also choose from a selection of manga
comic books or films that tend to make viewers cry,
including Forrest Gump and the South Korean film
A Moment to Remember.

4. A futuristic-looking Electric Vehicle that can
erect the driver’s cabin up to 3 meters (9.8
feet) high while it’s still driving on the road.
It’s not fast, but has a decent range and
comes in handy in situations that involve
large crowds, especially for police forces
that need to get a better view. In fact, that
is the exact reason the French authorities
are currently considering buying one.
Sold as the first electric vehicle in the world
with a piloting post and telescopic
observation, X was recently used for
surveillance at a carnival close to Paris.

9. X is a Chinese micro blogging website.
Akin to a hybrid of Twitter and Facebook,
it is one of the most popular sites in
China, in use by well over 30% of Internet
users, with a market penetration similar to
the United States' Twitter. It was
launched on 14 August 2009, and has
503 million registered users as of
December 2012. About 100 million
messages are posted each day on X.

12. Chennai-born X has been sworn-in as a criminal court
judge in New York by Mayor Bill de Blasio, becoming the
first India-born woman to be appointed a judge in New
York City.
X, 43, who had migrated to the U.S. from Chennai as a
teenager, previously worked with the Richmond County
District Attorney’s Office for her entire career in several
bureaus including Criminal Court, Narcotics, Supreme
Court, and the Sex Crimes Special Victims Bureau, where
she last served as Deputy Chief.

youngest MP of the House of Commons,
since the 17th century.

18. In April 1865 while serving as lieutenant colonel of the
Confederate Army's 12th Cavalry Regiment, Georgia State
Guard, John Pemberton was wounded in the Battle of
Columbus, Georgia. He was slashed across the chest by a
saber, and like many wounded veterans, he became
addicted to the morphine used to ease the pain. He was a
pharmacist and as such searched for a cure for his addiction.
In 1866, in Columbus, Georgia, he started working on painkillers
that would serve as opium-free alternatives to morphine. His
first was "Dr. Tuggle's Compound Syrup of Globe Flower.” He
next began experimenting with X and X wines, eventually
creating his own version of Vin Mariani, containing Y nut and
damiana, which he called Pemberton's French Wine X.
According to XY historian Phil Mooney, Pemberton's world-
famous soda was "created in Columbus, Georgia and carried
to Atlanta.”

21. Peter Habeler and Reinhold Messner are
the first ones to climb the Mt. Everest
without supplemental oxygen.
On 8 May 1978, Reinhold Messner stood
with Peter Habeler on the summit of Mt.
Everest.
22. X recounted that the date of his discovery of Y was
on the morning of Friday, September 28, 1928. The
traditional version of this story describes the
discovery as a fortuitous accident: in his laboratory
in the basement of St Mary's Hospital in London
(now part of Imperial College), X noticed a Petri
dish containing Staphylococcus that had been
mistakenly left open, was contaminated by blue-
green mould from an open window, which formed
a visible growth. There was a halo of inhibited
bacterial growth around the mould. X concluded
that the mould released a substance that
repressed the growth and caused lysing of the
bacteria.

brother Tamerlan. The motivation for the bombings
was apparently political in nature. He reportedly
"told the FBI that [he and his brother] were angry
about the U.S. wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and the
killing of Muslims there.” CBS senior correspondent
John Miller, later reported X’s handwritten note
inside the boat where he lay bleeding stated, "The
[Boston] bombings were in retribution for the U.S.
crimes in places like Iraq and Afghanistan [and]
that the victims of the Boston bombing were
collateral damage, in the same way innocent
victims have been collateral damage in U.S. wars
around the world.“

Brahmin (GSB) family in Mangalore, Karnataka. His
family hailed from Kundapur in Karnataka. His

his early years in Mangalore, and attended a
Kannada-medium government school. After
matriculation, he completed his PUC (Pre-University),
which at that time was only one year in length, at St.
Aloysius College. After completing his PUC, he joined
National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal
(known at that time as Karnataka Regional
Engineering College) for a Bachelors Degree in
Mechanical Engineering. After graduating from NIT
Surathkal in 1969, he joined the Indian Institute of

Graduate Diploma in Management.
