1. OURTOWN
You already know about our town’s name but here is a
little presentation about it.

2. It is a general view of our town

3. ■ Its name was Eudokia in the 6th century.
■ It was a site of ancient Roman city.

4. ■ In 1071, it becameTurkish land.

5. • It has one the biggest rivers inTurkey. It is
called «Yeşilırmak»Yeşilırmak means
«Green River» in English.

6. • It also has one of the largest and the most
mysterious caves in theWorld. It is called
«Ballıca Cave»
■ There are still some places of Ballıca cave that are not discovered yet. People are
afraid of going that deep into the cave.

7. • There is a really famous meat meal
called «Tokat Kebabı»

8. The Castle
■ There is a rumour aboutTokat
Castle.They say, if you climb up
there, you stay inTokat at least 7
years.You should dpend at least 7
years inTokat.

9. Do you know that…
■ «Veni,Vidi,Vici» (“I came, I saw, I conquered”) by Julius Ceasar was said inTokat.
■ Kont Dracula was kept as a prisoner inTokat Castle.

10. ■ Medicine and astronomy was firstly taught inTokat.
■ There is an ancient religion named «Anaitisis» and it dates back to 2000 BC.There are
still people coming from different countries.They want to visit AnahitaTemple and
they want to be pilgrim by visiting theTemple.
