Two functions of a Suffix:
(1) Change a word to its opposite meaning
(a) “ful” and “less”
(2)Change from one word class into another word class
(a) verb to noun
(b) Noun to adjective

Drop the “e” and add in the “tion”
Eg create, decorate, operate
