In this presentation from OzKFest 2015, I contemplate various methods to connect an Apple II host running a BBS to the internet for others to 'call' without the need for a modem.
I describe the Lantronix UDS100 serial server device and how I configured it to connect a physical Apple IIgs to the internet and show how to connect to it from an emulated Apple IIgs.
This document provides steps to connect multiple networks in Cisco Packet Tracer using a router:
1. Set up networks and configure IP addresses on end devices and switches.
2. Connect switches to the router using cables and configure the router interface for each network with matching IP addresses.
3. Set the default gateway on all end devices to the router IP so devices on different networks can communicate.
The document provides instructions for setting up a Linksys wireless router and adapter. It describes:
1. Connecting a USB network adapter to a computer and allowing Windows to install drivers automatically or using the Linksys disk.

This document provides instructions for connecting a Schneider Twido PLC to an Ethernet network using an Exemys EGW1-IA-MB Modbus/TCP to Modbus/RTU converter in order to enable remote connectivity between the PLC and a networked computer running Wonderware InTouch via a Modbus/TCP driver. The procedure involves configuring the PLC and EGW1-IA-MB serial ports for Modbus RTU communication, connecting the components via an RS485 cable, assigning the EGW1-IA-MB an IP address, and configuring an I/O server in InTouch.
NIC teaming allows combining multiple network adapters into a single logical interface in Windows Server 2012 R2. It provides bandwidth aggregation, redundancy in case of adapter failures, and can include adapters from different vendors. To configure NIC teaming, an administrator selects adapters to include in a team, chooses a teaming mode like switch independent or LACP, sets the load balancing mode, and can designate a standby adapter. This creates high availability and fault tolerance for the network connection.

Interfacing of Any PLC to Lab VIEW using Modbus ProtocolIRJET Journal
This document discusses interfacing a programmable logic controller (PLC) to LabVIEW software using the Modbus protocol. It provides an overview of Modbus and describes how to install the NI Modbus library in LabVIEW using the VI Package Manager. The document then demonstrates communicating with a Delta PLC by reading and writing memory coils and data registers using their Modbus addresses. A LabVIEW block diagram is presented that initializes a Modbus instance, reads and writes specific coil and register addresses using Modbus functions, and closes the instance. This allows real-time monitoring and control of the PLC data from LabVIEW.
Here are the steps to examine routes using PathPing and TraceRt:
1. Open a command prompt as Administrator.
2. To examine the route using PathPing, type:
pathping www.microsoft.com
3. Examine the output and note the routers used to reach the destination.
4. To get a quicker response, use TraceRt:
tracert www.microsoft.com
5. Note the routers displayed in the output. TraceRt and PathPing may display different results due to timing.
Examining routes will help understand the network path and identify any issues that could impact connectivity. You can then use this information for configuring static routes if needed.

CAKE: Sharing Slices of Confidential Data on BlockchainClaudio Di Ciccio
Presented at the CAiSE 2024 Forum, Intelligent Information Systems, June 6th, Limassol, Cyprus.
Synopsis: Cooperative information systems typically involve various entities in a collaborative process within a distributed environment. Blockchain technology offers a mechanism for automating such processes, even when only partial trust exists among participants. The data stored on the blockchain is replicated across all nodes in the network, ensuring accessibility to all participants. While this aspect facilitates traceability, integrity, and persistence, it poses challenges for adopting public blockchains in enterprise settings due to confidentiality issues. In this paper, we present a software tool named Control Access via Key Encryption (CAKE), designed to ensure data confidentiality in scenarios involving public blockchains. After outlining its core components and functionalities, we showcase the application of CAKE in the context of a real-world cyber-security project within the logistics domain.
