Technology Acceptable Use Policy Use Of Electronic Communication Devices And Other
Electronic Media During The Regular School Day Must Be In Support Of, And Consistent With
The Vision, Mission And Goals Established By The Habersham County Board Of Education
And For The Purpose Of Instruction And Learning. All Use Of Electronic Devices And
Technology Resources Must Comply With Habersham County Board Of Education Policy Jcda,
Student Behavior Code.
When Approved By The Principal Or Designee, Students May Be Permitted To Use Their Own
Electronic Devices To Connect Only To The Designated Habersham County Schools
2. Network. To Enforce This Policy Consistently, The Habersham Board Of Education Authorizes
The Administration Of Habersham County Schools To Establish Acceptable Use
Guidelines. Any Failure To Follow Established Protocols And Acceptable Use Guidelines Is
Subject To Disciplinary Action As Determined By The Principal Or Designee.

With our BYO D Policy we are trying to create personalized learning with the
21st Century student. Each student in the Habersham County School System
will be able to choose the following:
Selecting size (laptop vs surface)
Students will be able to choose their own devices but must be
approved by school
O perating system (Mac, Windows)
The Habersham County School system uses Mac and Windows
Production tools (Microsoft O ffice, iWork’s, Google Docs).
Habersham County Schools support Windows, Mac O S, iO S, Android,
Windows Mobile (WP10) and Chromium operating systems.
Please Note:
Every Computer Must Be Approved By The School During Orientation Or Before Using The
Device In The Classroom. Each Student Will Be Given A Google Apps Account To Use
During The School Year. This Account Provides Cloud Storage, Google Docs, Spreadsheet
And Presentation Tools As Well As Google Calendar. That Said – There Are Key Elements
Students Need, To Be Successful: Creating Documents, Spreadsheets And Presentations;
Note Taking; Storage; Communication, Etc. The Habersham County School System Wants
To Make This BYOD Policy Student Driven. Even When The Instructor Is Not Using
Technology With The BYOD Policy, We Encourage Students To Use Technology To Take

Teacher Or Administration.

It is not mandatory for students to bring a device, even if they do own one.
When electronic devices are used to enhance learning in the classroom,
students without a personal device will be provided access to an appro priate
district- owned digital device for use at school only. The school system will
have Chromebooks that will be issued to the student during school hours.

Guest Speakers
Divide into groups of 2 - 3 and have them connect with guest speak ers
using mobile devices
Live Polls
To generate interest throughout your lecture have the students use their
mobile devices to conduct a poll at the end of the lecture. This would be
a whole group activity
Classroom Projects
Divide into groups of 4 and have the group prepare a presentation from
selected material. For example, how to find the Pythagorean Theorem.
