The document discusses potential business opportunities for four local service providers to develop standalone product offerings with minimal support. All four opportunities could potentially be turned into products but they each face significant threats from established competitors. The drone delivery opportunity stands out as having the most potential for growth due to offering consumable, perishable products with on-demand delivery convenience for customers, despite risks from large dairy competitors. Overall, standalone products based on these local services may struggle due to existing similar offerings and limited resources to compete against established brands.

how to convert Service to-product model in your Business.
1. List of service business:
1. Millennium clinic – Dr. Anant Agarwal.
2. Decent Furniture repair Services – Mr Tanmay Khatri.
3. InfoTech (hardware repairing) – Mr Naresh Chaudhary.
4. Air Drone Delivery – Mr Rajat Sharma.
Main services offered by these businesses:
1. Dr. Anant Agarwal at Millennium clinic is currently looking after the patient who are
physically disturbed from their health.
2. Mr Tanmay Khatri owns a small shop named as Decent Furniture repair services in
the market. He is having a group of skilled people which are specialised in repairing
furniture.
3. Mr Naresh Chaudhary owns a shop named as Info Tech and his team provides
hardware repairing at a budgeted cost.
4. Air Drone Delivery is a start-up Idea by me whose main objective is to deliver
necessary daily used item to the customers by using Drone.
Q.1) Consider which of these offerings might be turned into a product that
could be delivered on a standalone basis with essentially no service support.
According to me each of the above mentioned service offering could be turned into a product
that could delivered on a standalone basis with essential no or little support service.
1. Dr. Anant Agarwal may commence the manufacturing of the medicines which will
help the patience at millennium clinic to recover fast with zero or no side effects and
would be healing the health issues more effectively.
2. Mr Tanmay Khatri may engage themselves in the wood cutting, building furniture and
selling it directly to the customer they have built till now.
3. Mr Naresh Chaudhary may commerce the manufacturing of small computer and
printer hardware parts which will result as a benefit to customer as well as business in
term of final prices and loyal buying.
4. I can turn the service into product by making the product which is high in demand
such as Milk, bread and butter, etc.
Q2.) Identify who the customer would be, i.e. your current customers,
current competitors, customers from a different segment than you serve
now.
In the first three case the targeted customers will be the current customers. However, in
fourth case the customers would be from different districts of a state at its early stage.
2. Competitors for each business;
1. In the 1st
case of millennium clinic the competitors would be other clinic owner and
specialised doctors of same stream sitting in hospitals.
2. In the 2nd
case of Decent furniture Repair services the competitors would be each and
every business engaged in the manufacturing, selling or trading of either wood or
furniture.
3. In the 3rd
case of Info Tech the competitors would be the large giant player who are
either engaged in manufacturing of computer parts or the computer and printer itself.
4. In the last case the competitor would be large dairy product producing companies
such as Amul and Mother dairy.
Q.3) Identify what the ideal product offering would be.
1. Nature medicine & treatment without side effects.
2. Customised Furniture with unique designs at a cheaper cost.
3. Cheap & quality part with excellent repairing terms as compared to that of other giant
players.
4. Quality milk with its own distribution channel.
Summary.
All of these opportunities seems favourable to implement but since it has been seen that in
most of these opportunity the competitors are either giant player or an old market players so it
becomes a huge threat for these business and this threat today might not affect the
establishment of the business but will disturb the business in its daily run and soon may result
in reducing the demand for the product.
I personally has seen in many of the cases that the amendments introduced by the start-up
venture are sometime already existed in the market. Same with these cases is too applicable I
can see that in 1st
case Dr. Anant Agarwal may plan to produce medicine and sell it to the
patient but if think about it does it not pre-exists in the market. Yes! It is so as per me Dr.
Anant Agarwal will be able to implement the plan but it will be resulting to a short time
period due to less resources and high competition from the related Business.
Discussing about the 2nd
case which is an idea about establishing a customised furniture
manufacture. Well it has become a psychology of the people that if they have the carpenter to
work in front of their eyes why they will be preferring the customised manufacturing of
furniture. Another main thing to discuss here is that the furniture is a thing which isn’t sold
more frequently so it will we requiring a huge capital investment, there is another things to
like customer patients level, limited scope, etc.
Now the 3rd
one is about manufacturing the parts used in computers and printers this business
has an advantage of providing these parts at cheap prices but again here due to the limited
market excess and customer the business will not receive an opportunity to grow and thus
will make it weak from the competitor.
3. The one which I found suitable and acquires a potential opportunity to grow is the 4th
case
where the owner has connected the business idea with the reliable delivery services. As seen
in every case this also consist of a little problem which is the threat from the giant
competitors for instance Amul & mother dairy may create problem for the venture to be get
succeed. Although I think this matter would of least concern till the time the business in not
observed as close competitor by these players. Again I would explain the reason why this
business idea has a potential for growth this is because of the consumable and perishable
nature which a product had. Milk and other dairy products are daily consumed by the people
and thus their perishability affect them a lot. By relating the perishability of good with the
convenience on the part of customer it will be easy to gain the trust of the consumers for the
loyal period of time. As these products are consumed on a daily basis it seems to be clear that
the business will succeed and will be continued in future.
