Thriller Film
Opening
2. Final Synopsis
2
The final film opening scenario that the group decided on was a combination of Sonila
and Shanice's idea of murder. The opening scene with start with a black screen and it
will slowly fade in to where there are four girls at a café. They are just finishing off their
dinner. One of the girls suddenly starts saying how she's been getting anonymous texts
from someone. However she thinks its someone from school. The rest of the girls agree
with her as it has happened before. Then the four girls get up to leave and 3 of the girls
go the other way and the last girl goes the opposite. As she continues to walk down the
dark street she suddenly hears foot steps behind her but when she looks no one is
there. She then gets scared so she decides to speed walk home but as she turns the
corner on the next road she's suddenly murdered. A cross cut is then used to the
location of her 3 other friends walking. They get a text saying ‘you’re next, -v’ and they
all have confused faces. Then another cross cut is used in a dark room where there is a
spider diagram of pictures of all the girls. The person in the dark room turns the radio
up and the news reporter begins to say that a girl was found dead on 5th avenue street.
However we believe this was suicide and the police are still investigating. As the news
plays in the background the person in the room crosses out the girl who was killed in
the spider diagram. Then the camera moves around the room to show pictures of the
girls all over the room. Lastly a black screen appears.

3. Who is the target audience?
3
For our psychological thriller we have decided to have
our target audience as young people aged from 16-20.
This is because young people can relate to the
characters as they are in a similar age group. Also
because, young people tend to watch thriller movies
more than the older people as they have more time and
it is one hobby that young people enjoy as it is easily
accessible and not too much money is spent to go to
the cinema.

4. What is our location?
4
We have decided to film our thriller opening down a
long road around marks gate where they have a little
café and restaurant down the road. We want to use this
location because firstly, it is hidden, therefore it is
easier for us to create suspense when it comes to the
murder as it wont be crowded with people. The
location is more deserted which makes it easier for us
to film. We have also decided to use the drama room in
our school for the dark room with the spider diagram.
We have chosen the drama room because it is open
space and it is easy for us to access during the day.

6. Special arrangements
6
We will need to ask for permission to use the drama
room because sometimes there are after school clubs
and lessons going on in the room which could disrupt
our filming session. We also have to ask permission to
film in the café because some people may think that we
are disrupting their dinner and we may be too noisy.
As it’s a public area we need to get a letter from our
teacher to show the café that it is for a school project in
hopes that they will give us permission.

7. Health and Safety Issues
7
Knife- Because it is in a public place some of the
members of the public may think that it is real and
think that they're in danger so might want to call the
police, if so we should inform them that it is for our
film and the knife is fake.
If the weather condition change; rain or snow, the
floor may be slippery therefore, it is a safety hazard as
someone may slip and fall.
It is dark and there are people around so we must.
Therefore, we should inform our parents.
