Mood Board

I decided to choose the color yellow
because it is bright and submits a happy
color. It is an unpopular color in football
but works for energy drinks as it stands
out, the color of the Lucozade energy drink
is yellow.
Red is a prominent color in football, this is a
primary color for the majority of football teams.
This color will be used for the advertising and can
design rather than being based on the flavor of
the drink. Red senses danger also, sport fans will
know that the Red inflicts power and danger on
the opponents.
The color green is linked to nature, the grass
of a football pitch is green and this is where
it stems from. The color is also unpopular,
however Gatorade use similar green colors
on their packaging.
White is a classic color but doesn’t give out a
certain appeal like the brighter ones. The white
color is sported by the national teams for
football and rugby, this color could work for
advertising or doing something on the can
design.
These two pictures show large crowds with banners displaying the 12th
man, large crowds in football are referred to as the 12th man to carry the
team. This is the motive behind the name for my product as the crowd
play such an influential part in a players performance, they thrive off
chants and support. Most of the existing energy drinks don’t have a
meaning behind them, I want to include this as I thought it was important
to include a reason for choosing this title, making it a strong name and
hypothetically, if it would sell, the branding would be enough to make the
sale.
I want to base my can design around football success also, I have looked at
the major trophies surrounding the sport and will later plan which will
look the better on the can. Trophies and the crowd together are about
success this is also seen by performance from the players.
These images that I have chosen are for my advertising ideas. The pictures
represent everything to do with football. My initial idea is to include a
football crest and have the can situated in the middle like it is the badge. My
second idea is to use the crowd to show passion, I would like the image
black and white on the advert or half colour, as the crowd are the 12th man
it seems appropriate to use images like this. A final idea is to use the players
celebrations, this focuses on their facial expressions, it shows to the viewer
that drinking the energy drink has given them the opportunity to celebrate
like this.
For my advert I would want the can to sit
somewhere in the middle, I think I would have
the best choice of fulfilling this by using the
crest or a shield in creating the design.
