2. The Portuguese's people have a rich and diverse
culture within their Holidays, dress, and food,
which are very unique to there country. Foods
like green soup and holidays like festa de sao
joao will soon be having you dreaming about
this great country
3. Portugal has a vast amount of holidays and
celebrations throughout its year. Most of them tie into
its rich religious background. Festa de Sao Joao takes
part on 23 June. It involves street parties and music
that carries into the night. When the sun does set a
tradition of releasing sky lanterns and balloons
initiates a huge fireworks display.
4. A very popular soup is called Caldo Verde. It is
made from potato's, shredded kale, and chunks of
chorizo. This amazing soup offer just the right kick
which come from its spicy chorizo. This dish may
not look appetizing but take my word that you
wont be disappointed.
5. The National dish of Portugal is bacalhau which is
made with salted and dried cod. This meal has over
300 ways to prepare it and goes great with many side
dishes.
6. • The lavradeira folk costume is
associated with traditional
Portuguese dress. It is an elaborate
embroidery with gold jewelry to
accent the clothing. The men's
outfit resembles a bull fighters
ensemble while the women wear
stockings with dresses and a
colored vest with long sleeves.
Another type of men clothing is
know as the Portuguese jacket
which is like a tailcoat that has been
cropped at the waist(The Lovely
Planet, 2014).
