MAINTAIN HOPE OUTREACH
Maintain Hope is a group of volunteers formed by Susan Riehn & Gerry O'Donoghue from Athagarvan, Ireland. During their
recent visit to SNSBR they brought 59 orphans and 30 volunteers for sea side activities. At the same time these volunteers built
3 classrooms at Kikambala Primary School; a School in the village that has a population of 2,230 students with only 28
classrooms. To officially open this project is the Kilifi District Commissioner, Mr. John Elungata, Maintain Hope’s Director,
Mr. Gerry O'Donoghue , Sun N Sun Beach Resort GM , Mr. Fredrick Andimilleh & Resident Manager , Mr. Daudi Mtuacha.
Students of class 7c enjoy a lesson from Mr. & Mrs. Porter with a tree they planted Ladies from Maintain Hope were not
Ms Aine O'Callaghan from Scoil to commemorate their wedding at the Sun left behind during the Maintain Hope
Mhuire in Ireland .Aine and 7 other N Sand Beach Resort on 21st June philanthropic mission; Gabrielle, Rose
teachers from Scoil Bhride are 2008 .To mark this great event they also & Patricia are seen painting a
volunteers of Maintain Hope. The Sponsored 10 year old Brian Odhiambo, Classroom. These 3 ladies painted 28
lessons covered included Math, an orphan in class 4c at the Kikambala classrooms & the administration block
Science & English . Primary School for lunch ,uniform & at Kikambala Primary School. They also
shoes. donated 27 hula hoops, 5 footballs, 9
tennis balls & stationery
