We saw a surge of placements following a disruptive Q3
after the ‘’Brexit’’ vote.
LMA’s C&I desk has seen a rise in placements from Q1 - Q4
predominately coming from retail and media clients. With our
number of temporary workers increasing be 150% from the
start of the year.
Our C&I finance team performed very well despite the state of
flux in the UK economy. The recruitment trend over the past year
has seen a core business come from our retail clients. These
have been largely newly created positions rather than losing
staff to competitors. We have seen the hospitality industry focus
on part qualified roles supporting the leadership team with
innovative ideas for 2017. Our media clients have assisted with
LMA’s rapid growth and we saw a significant increase in both
temporary & permanent roles particularly at the newly qualified
level.
There seems to be a good 50/50 split between the need for
qualified and non-qualified finance professionals. 2016 has been
good and consistent year for C&I and we have found employer
branding helps in this current market; but in reality it needs to
be the true reflection of what goes on inside the business.
Our C&I desks saw more commercial roles rather than technical
roles, we have seen businesses trying to be more proactive in
terms of forward thinking growth for 2017. This trend was also
recognised by the number of credit control roles we got leading
up to year end and that desire to get outstanding cash in.
Forecasting for 2017 seems to be very positive with many of our
clients waiting for new headcount to be signed off.

  • 1. We saw a surge of placements following a disruptive Q3 after the ‘’Brexit’’ vote. LMA’s C&I desk has seen a rise in placements from Q1 - Q4 predominately coming from retail and media clients. With our number of temporary workers increasing be 150% from the start of the year. Our C&I finance team performed very well despite the state of flux in the UK economy. The recruitment trend over the past year has seen a core business come from our retail clients. These have been largely newly created positions rather than losing staff to competitors. We have seen the hospitality industry focus on part qualified roles supporting the leadership team with innovative ideas for 2017. Our media clients have assisted with LMA’s rapid growth and we saw a significant increase in both temporary & permanent roles particularly at the newly qualified level. There seems to be a good 50/50 split between the need for qualified and non-qualified finance professionals. 2016 has been good and consistent year for C&I and we have found employer branding helps in this current market; but in reality it needs to be the true reflection of what goes on inside the business. Our C&I desks saw more commercial roles rather than technical roles, we have seen businesses trying to be more proactive in terms of forward thinking growth for 2017. This trend was also recognised by the number of credit control roles we got leading up to year end and that desire to get outstanding cash in. Forecasting for 2017 seems to be very positive with many of our clients waiting for new headcount to be signed off.
