5. Commercial Goal: Extraction of Artemia eggs (cysts) to be used as food
for various fish and other marine species, animals and the production of
ready-to-sell products
Environmental Goal: Restoration of Artemia population in their natural
environment in Garabogaz Bay, where the species has almost disappeared due
to increased salinity since 2005
Implementation:
• Restoration of suitable natural environment in Garabogaz Bay for
Artemia’s self-sustained reproduction
• Construction of ponds, laboratories, as well as processing and warehouse
facilities
• Deliberate transplantation of Artemia for the production of Artemia
cysts and biomass (Naupliar)

professionals and experts
