scientific proven system. We help all members’ of SYV (School of
Yoga Vidhya) to delve and explore the potential and benefits of yoga.

and spiritual seeker to develop, practice and become a sadhaka
(expert) in pranayama, meditation, hatha yoga, mudras and bhanda.

Common Reason for Over Weight and Obesity
▪ Inactive Lifestyle

▪ Work Schedules and Pressure
▪ Improper Diet
▪ Consumption of Junk food
▪ Hereditary
▪ Lack of Sleep
▪ When intake of food is more and beyond the necessity of body or calories are not
burnt and balanced.

Note:
After a certain period, over fat and obesity leads to lot of physical and emotional
imbalance. Which totally collapse and lead a distress life.
Yogic Food and Hatha Yoga
▪ Yogic food is SATVIC food

▪ Fixed time for breakfast, lunch and dinner
▪ Time difference between meals must be at least 4 hours.
▪ Have a low fat meal, with fibber rich vegetables and fruits.

▪ Decrease quantity of fats, excess calories, sweets, milk, butter, cheese etc
in meals.

▪ Lead a natural and simple life. Try to intake food based on your body

system and harmony. The food items which put over weight, lazy are
TAMASIC food. You should not become a slave to this food or that food.

▪ Food is to build a health body and mind, and it is not just mere to satisfy
you tongue. All tasty foods are not good for health.
Yogic Food Recommendation for This Programme

▪ Raw fruits
▪ Vegetable or Salad one time (All vegetables, except onions and garlic)
▪ Avocado or Butter Fruit - The will maintain protein and won’t increase fat
▪ Butter milk maximum usage. Don’t use yoghurt
▪ Rice must be very much avoided or less consumption.
▪ Increase the usage of fruits or vegetable instead
▪ Herbal teas, water with lemon and/or lime
Food Should Be Avoided:
▪ All oily food or reduce its consumption.

▪ Meat and fish of all types, including eggs
▪ Processed and/or artificial foods, junk food, artificial sweeteners, soda
▪ Fried foods
▪ Canned foods, except naturally canned tomatoes and fruit
▪ Microwaved foods
▪ Alcohol, tobacco, stimulants
▪ Foods that are genetically engineered
▪ Foods that are eaten in a rush or in a disturbed environment
▪ Sweets, Spicy and Sour Items
